Nnamdi is winning All Pro Status:

Nnamdi and Burgess look to be our two Pro Bowl players in 2006.

They are both deserving, but to me, 2006 has been Nnamdi's coming out party!!!

He was drafted highly out of Cal. As many of you know I follow the Bears closely and was stoked to see him drafted into the Silver and Black.

It was not an easy learning curve for the young corner. I called him toast many times, because he was always burnt.

In fact, many were calling for Sanford and Wash to be our corners this year.

It took until his fourth year and fourth game for Nnamdi to get his first pick and now he has 7 (Tied for 1st in the League)!!! He also has a TD and a forced fumble!!!

I took serious notice of who was giving up the yards yesterday and most of the catches were thrown at the 80 year old Tyrone Poole. #38 was near 60% of the catches!!!

Nnamdi had a helluva game, only giving up one catch to Chad Johnson and that was 4 inches from being knocked away!!!

His left handed grab of Carson Palmer's 2nd Quarter interception is one for the 2006 highlight reel. That was truly Awesome-Muah!!!

Here are some links for background on Nnamdi:

All in all he is one helluva CB and a person!!! In fact, he is moving up the poll for favorite Raider!!!

yeah
I noticed poole getting picked on a lot, a lot of the completions were to the slot receiver going accross the middle, either being covered by poole or a linebacker.  Also we may need to practice the zone defense a little more.  Looks like we're not sure where they are supposed to be.  I have a real problem with players playing the zone defense, I understand that you must play in your zone and keep to it, but where there is only one player even near your zone and you are 5 yards away covering a piece of field, and they throw to that player, something is seriously wrong.  Nnamdi looked awesome today, Fab looking pretty good as well.  Those corners are looking better and better each time out.  Im wondering whats with routt, is he not as good as poole or what?.  If you watched that game and can tell me why we need to keep schweigert, please inform me because all I saw was reasons for him to go.  Also needs to go, Brayton, and S. Williams.  not sure what it is with williams, but consitently saw him try to run around blockers and come around the end when the RB just blasted through the area vacated by Sam.  Langston also needs to go.. truly atrocious yesterday.

Where was Routt?
Good points Boistheman.  Why wasn't Routt used  as the primary nickel back?  Here are some additonal points to consider about our Defense:

(1) I understand that the Raiders D doesn't like to blitz and uses mainly the front 4 to create QB pressure.  However, with our CB's playing man to man, shouldn't there be an opportunity to blitz Howard or Huff more regularly?  Asomugha is also excellent at blitzing from the corner.

(2) DE Kevin Huntley is a far superior athlete and pass ruhser than Brayton.  I would like to see Huntley take more and more of Brayton's snaps.

(3)  We need to draft or sign a run stuffing, hole plugging DT. Our run defense is subpar.

(4)  We need to draft or sign a playmaking, blitzing, run stuffing SLB.  Sam Williams just doesn't have the instincts or nose for the football.

(5) I would like to see us use Darnell Bing as SS next year and switch Huff to FS.

(6) Count me in for voting Asomugha & Burgess to Honolulu Hawaii.
