Let's Build a New Stadium:

In the Parking Lot!!!

We already know that we can sell the naming rights for 60 Million for 20 years.

We know that the NFL will give us 150 Million dollars. That is 210 Million dollars up front for a 500 million dollar project.

I would love a new Coliseum!!! One that was modeled after the old Roman Coliseum. A place where Gladiators would fight on a weekly stage for GLORY!!!

The NFL owners have just voted to build a new stadium for the Jets and Giants.

They are giving them 300 million in order to get it done.

Now, let me ask you this...Would you join in with the Niners and split the stadium up IF it meant having 360 million dollars to buld it?

nope
because then one would lose the naming of the team.. or both.. it would be the bay area raiders.  I'm ok with having the OAKLAND Raiders.  I'm even ok with staying with the stadium, i like the old concrete pile.  Its got history.  IF they do make a new stadium, those 46 dollar upper decks turn into 70 dollar upperdecks, keep the prices low.

How Many More Renovations?
The Coliseum was retrofitted in 1995. Now that we all have come to love Mt. Davis and big dollar suites that have accompanied the retrofit, why throw more money at the Coliseum? The Raiders brought their "Los Malos" image back from LA when they returned and silicon valley (not Wayne) didn't buy into it.

The problem with the Raiders is that they can't attract big corporate sponsors to give $$ to Al Davis' coffers. The fact that there are no takers in a minority ownership of the team also shows that as long as Al is in charge and the team will go to his wife and son, will keep potential sponsors from what is perceived as a bad business deal.

Would I love a new stadium? I dont'know. The product is so bad right now, I can't see throwing more pearls before a swine. The Raider organization has a LONG way to go before consumer confidence is willing to overlook their eccentricities.
