Art Shell no longer HC

From the official Oakland Raiders web site:

Al Davis and Art Shell met today and discussed the 2006 football season. While Art will no longer serve as head coach, he and Mr. Davis have discussed and will continue to discuss opportunities for Art to remain a valued member of the Raider organization."

It's sad, but it's for the best.

Wow!!!!

That comes as somewhat striking news to me. Then again his A-Team consisted of one other guy. That guy was better suited to be the team cook than the OC.

The game did pass Art by and he did not do ANYTHING to assert himself as a coach of the game.

It is now time for him to sit next to Jim Otto. He has shown that he does bleed silver and black.

He never backed down and tried hard to win every game.

Now, I wonder who the man will be.

My vote is for Ryan to coach and for his brother to come and join him.

I'll write a full piece on this tomorrow. The liter of Three Thieves has just started to kick in!!! :)

An outside possibility

that a new coach would inspire Porter and Moss to play to their potential, thus alleviating the need to trade them. I wouldn't mind Ryan taking over the job, at least there would be a little fire on the sidelines.
