So how does the draft work?
I read that the order is based off of winning percentage first, then strength of schedule.
Now, I also read that the Raiders had the strongest strength of schedule in 07. So I've got some questions.
- Will the strength of schedule be based off of the pre-season, or the numbers from this season? If it's the latter, then I have no idea where they fall amidst the other 4-12 teams from this year: Atlanta, NY Jets, and KC.
- Would the team with the strongest strength of schedule get the best pick? Or would it go in the reverse order, based on the logic that the team with the strongest schedule is the best team at that record, and thus deserves a worse pick?

The Raiders will draft #6.
The schedule for next year also looks very good other than playing NE at home. The Raiders play the Jets, Falcons, Panthers, and either the Texans or Titans at home, get TB, NO, Miami on the road. The schedule sets up very well for the Raiders next year to have a break out season.

Looks like you are incorrect about our draft
NEW YORK -- Atlanta, Kansas City and Oakland are involved in a complicated coin flip scenario to decide the third, fourth and fifth picks in the NFL draft in April. The first pick will go to Miami (1-15) and the second to St. Louis (3-13).

I just saw THAT too:
That would make McFadden the #3 pick!!!
IF that happens I would love to trade that pick, move down and scoop a 2nd and third as well.

I don't know about that
Sure trades or positioning in the draft doesn't happen a lot, but when the owner of the Cowboys, who already has running backs at his disposal, looks to make moves, I believe the holder of that golden spot can make the best of it.
Teams don't want to trade into the #1 spot
