Spring Cleaning Continues DLD 7-27-07 Courtney Cut

The Raiders and Kiffin continue to separate the wheat from the chaffe. Kiffin rightly identified TE as one of the problem areas of last years offense and went after one of the top TE's in the draft. While MIller is not signed neither is Russell as he wants to break the bank and collect $30M!

When will the NFL adopt the same policy as the NBA and implement a rookie cap for 1st round picks? This issue does affect lower revenue generating teasm such as our Raiders who have difficulty attracting corporate sponsorship due to their bad boy image which has remained ever since thier return form LA.

Jarod Cooper and Bing are gone now too!!!
That is CRAZY!!!

Cooper was a beast on special teams. I guess Kiffin is NOT playing around.

Perhaps Gruden would have cleaned house
...if he had the opportunity his first season as much as Kiffin has. I'm frankly glad about these moves b/c after seeing this team dog it for various reasons over the last 4 seasons no one should feel safe.
The other issue that will be interesting to follow is that of D. Burgess. The Raiders boldly gave him a chance now he wants the big $$. So far he's saying all of the right things. I just want players to honor their contracts and not whine and complain about what they agreed upon when they signed.

Burgess will get some money:
John Madden's Road to Canton is on the NFL Network. Finally some great Raider High-lights.

'Glad to see Anderson gone
Had high hopes for him but he just couldn't be depended upon to hold onto the ball. Many a drive was stalled because Courtney or Moss dropped sure passes that would have kept ball possession.
As for Cooper, he got himself in trouble and several of the draft picks and free agent signings were clearly for special teams use.
