And I thought our owners were a bunch of assholes....
At least they just own the team and delegate responsibility and then they disappear. As an NFL fan, watching Al Davis screw up the Oakland Raiders organization is just plain painful. If you couldn't stand Lane Kiffin, I can understand that, but remember who hired him. RaiderNation must want to drive Davis to the bridge and help push him off. Here is a list of the coaches that have coached for the Oakland/LA Raiders since Mike Shanahan was fired back in 1989 (Davis didn't want to pay him either):
Art Shell (1989-1994) 28-16
Mike White (1995-1996) 15-17
Joe Bugal (1997) 4-12
Jon Gruden (1998-2001) 30-18
Bill Callahan (2002-2003) 15-15
Norv Turner (2004-2005) 9-23
Art Shell (2006) 2-14
Lane Kiffin (2007-2008) 5-15
Tom Cable (2008- present)
Say what you want about Jon Gruden, but he did bring you to the cusp of a SB win and made the playoffs every year as a coach of the Oakland organization. Shell did well in his 1st go round that included 3 playoff appearances as well (90, 91, and 93). However, collectively as a group, if you take away the Gruden years the Raiders have gone through a total of 9 coaches with a combined record of 78-112. OUCH. Not since the 70's and mid 80's have RaiderNation been the powerhouse of the NFL.So whatever Al Davis is doing, it obviously isn't working. Ever think that it's not the coaches? I know Al is an orginal Raider from the AFL days and was even a coach. But if there was ever a time, RaiderNation as a whole needs to take a stand and tell Mr. Davis that it is time to sell the team. Don't worry, I hear he could still nab a job from that one show.....Tales From The Crypt.

this bucs fan comes over to our forum to tell us how our team should be run
Damn straight I am going to say what I said. The bucs except for 1 year are a joke. The raiders on the other hand have been one of the best franchises in the NFL except for the past few years.

Stats don't lie. Your team has was a powerhouse. Key word is WAS. For the beloved RaiderNation to thrive again, Al Davis must go. Admit it. Or don't.
And yes, I may be a Buc Fan, but I live for the present, not the shitty Culverhouse/McKay years. Like Warren Sapp said, Davis is still living in the 70’s. And for the record, if we were living in the past, my “shit hole” has seen a Super Bowl win and the playoffs twice more in the past 6 years.

I WONT ADMIT IT, Al Davis has more football knowledge in his pinkie than you will ever have...
Sure he has made some horribel signings and stalled our rebuilding and sure his ego has done us some harm. But Al Davis is the Raiders, for better or worse we have no choice but to ride with him. And honestly, I trust him, hopefully Cable can build on what Kiffin has started.
You guys were the biggest laughing stock in the leauge for what 20 years, give or take. Then you got Dungy who built up a stong team and had Gruden ride his team and M KIffin’s team to a championship. And now you guys are above average, I’ll give you that, you have a decent chance of one and done this year, and thats the best case scenario for you. We were in the Super Bowl five years ago with a veteran team and we have been rebuilding, and are team now looks competetive again and has some great talent on both sides of the ball.
And on a side note get your facts straight before coming and posting this nonsense on a Raiders site, Gruden went 8-8 his first 2 years and didnt make the playoffs. Have fun with Brian Greise leading you to the promise land…

Just for fun,
I also checked our all time winning pct against other NFL teams, ours is whopping 833% against you guys.
And please dont make some stupid generic response like ‘haha we beat you in the one that counted’. Sure losing the superbowl is never fun, bu heres the difference between us. You got one superbowl to hang your hats on and a few NFC south banners. Meanwhile we got countless amount of playoff appearances, AFC west Banners, several AFC champonships and 3 superbowls.

And you were alive to witness how many of them? I mean kudos for what you've done in the past....
But what you have to realize is that I am pulling for your organization to succeed. I just don’t believe is that it will happen with Al Davis as the owner. I do apologize about saying Gruden went to the playoffs every year as Raider’s coach. But besides Callahan’s 1 year playoff run (which was from mostly what Gruden built), that’s the last time you guys sniffed the post season. This isn’t about my team vs yours. It’s about an obsessive owner who has to has his decrepid hands involved in every aspect of the team. Hell, you guys may actually have a chance if he at lest scaled it back a little. I like Tom Cable. He is a no nonsense kinda coach and seems to have a good relationship with most of the players…Now if Al would just let him coach.

i do apologize,
for comming out like a jerk, good discussion among intellegent fans is always good among smart and reasonable fans, see amoc’s post a bit ago about how this community has gotten really good lately
but come on man, we do operate on different levels, we as the raider nation, almost belong to al davis. AL DAVIS is the raiders. I am a huge raiders fan, so there for, i am a huge Al Davis Fan. do a wikipedia search on the guy, he is the man and our guy, and i will ride with him till the day he dies, and yes he will turn this thing around, i belive it, i like our talent and i like cable

I miss Gruden
Ever since Gruden left, he took the team with him. We had one good year with Callahan, but that was with a team that Gruden put together. I’m also puzzled to how Shell was so good the first time he coached us, then he comes back and gives us our worst year in franchise history.

Its actually quite obvious,
the game has changed and thats why younger or wiser head coaches are doing well in the leauge today. Art Shell went and got Tom Walsh to run the same offense as he did in 1992. 1992! No one told him the days of 7 step drops and flingin it down the field dont work anymore.

Raider Nation
loved Gruden and most still do. Part of Al’s problem is he is impatient. He thinks if he just puts the right people together everything will change in one or two years. When it doesn’t then he wants to make big changes and there is little or nothing we can do about it. NFL football is not a democracy. You can’t sign a freakin petition and lobby the organization and they are going to do what you want. It might make you feel better to express your opinion but shit that is what a blog is for. I think it is too funny when people, Raiders fans or not, want to start a “movement” to try and make Al sell the team or make major personel changes. The only movement anybody is going to have any luck with is when they sit on the toilet.

as you said
we’re just expressing ourselves
