SIlver and Black Game Grades (KC @ Oakland game)
QUARTERBACK — C+
Talking about his inconsistency on the field and control of the offense. Really knocked him down because of the overthrowing. And I agree it is a problem.
RUNNING BACKS — C-
Knocking them down for the fumble by Fargas.
WIDE RECEIVERS/TIGHT ENDS — D-
Yeah well. I'm sure you all agree. BUT I'm beginnign to wonder if some of the dropped balls are because Russell isn't giving the correct power and just hitting them so hard it bounces out of their hands sometimes. (Please before you flame me, note the word sometimes).
OFFENSIVE LINE — C+
While Harris didn't get flagged as much and didn't get spun as a top, one of his 2 calls was holding.
DEFENSIVE LINE – D
They regressed in the 2nd half and never put enough pressure on Tyler Thigpen to disrupt his rhythm or facilitate more mistakes. Oakland cannot win games when 1 sack is recorded (Tommy Kelly) the entire game and 119 yards are allowed on the ground in the 2nd half, while the offense struggles. (yup and cut n paste, can't sum it up better)
LINEBACKERS — C
Eh. Read it.
SECONDARY — C
Well Asomugha was beaten twice for 34 yards, and Gonzalez had 8 receptions for 110 yards
SPECIAL TEAMS — D
I blame Cable for this crap.
COACHING – D –
The team was overconfident and the blasé approach in leaving points on the field hurt the Raiders. Oakland still has only 1 touchdown in the first half of games this season. The fake punt, FG, and going for it on 4th and 3.

Cable Needs To Get DirecTV
But when they start scheming us the way these guys did, and we weren't particularly ready for it, anything can happen."

This song is getting really annoying
Of our eleven losses to the Chiefs this decade, nine are by a touchdown or less.
I'm here to talk about the past.

Well
like usual, the normal Raiders team showed up instead of the one that came out to play like last week.
See. This worked in KC’s favor like it worked for us last week. We wanted revenge and we wanted the W. We got it. Denver figured we would lay down. We thought the same about KC.
Just my thoughts, take it as you want.

You're being far too generous to the coaches
They don’t deserve a D-. I ‘d give them an F, and only because there isn’t a lower grade. What the hell were they thinking going for that assenine fake field goal attempt on fourth and ten. I was at the game and didn’t see any replays, but were they expecting Seabass to run for the first down? Or was he supposed to pass? To who? More importantly, why would you call such a play when your team has the momentum, the field goal wouldn’t really hurt that momentum, success wouldn’t guarantee a touchdown, and failure would be momentum changing at best, or disasterous as the case turned out to be. On the ensuing possession, the Raiders move within field goal range and again decide to pass up the field goal and instead go for it on fourth down. As the Raiders snap the ball, play fake, and attempt to pass, KC calls time out. Given time to reconsider, the coaching staff still decides to go for it on fourth down. Was anyone surprised that the Raiders called a passing play? I wasn’t, and I don’t think KC was either. I’m sure tonight my wife will wake me in the middle of a nightmare, and ask why do I keep saying “why? why? why?”

Quote from Gonzalez to Miller after the game
Though pleased with his production, Miller was still ticked off about the pass he dropped late in the game. He also got blasted by Kansas City defensive backs on a couple plays, a topic that came up when he and Gonzalez spoke after the game.
"He’s like, ‘Damn, your quarterback’s got to stop hanging you out to dry,’" Miller said.

The reason we sucked up the field was
Cable thinks we’re some kind of pass-heavy team and he’s trying to create a balance. A balance which he’s been trying to create since the New Orleans game, and look how well that went. Russell shouldn’t be throwing 28 passes, he should only throw around 10-15 (like in Denver) The Raiders are a RUNNING TEAM. You have a great rushing offense that was matched up up against a horrendous run defense. Why not use it? None of this trick wildcat crap either, just hand it off up the middle like you did in Week 2 where you demolished the Chiefs for 300 yards rushing. Oh wait, that was Kiffin’s team. You know the competent team.
