With the 7th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft...

Who will the Pats take at the #7 spot?

NE doesn't believe in paying top-dollar to keep their players (see Colvin, Deion Branch, etc).  As such, they've got to draft DB.  LB is an area of need for them as well, but there quite simply isn't the deep talent in the first round this year.

Pats take Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

doh!
I made this pick from memory.  Guess I'm a year behind!  I see this pick working out well for them (unfortunately).  Their scheme can make a good corner a great one- I don't think Samuel is that great, but they have a good pass rush, and he gets to play a lot of zone.

that being said, I fully expect NE to take Gholston is he's around.

Totally Correct!!
They have to get better in the secondary, and this is the guy most likely to help them do that.

Perfect Pats pick
True, I do believe LB is a need for the Craps, but this is the pick they need the absolute most. I hate the craps, but if they do this, I would respect their management. Unlike cough Al cough Davis cough. Must be allergies or something cough!
