Jerry McDonald of ANG Newsgroup, is reporting that Schweigert has been notified of his release.
Stuart Schweigert, a four-year veteran who served as the poster boy for the Raiders’ tackling woes, is looking for a new employer.
Schweigert was informed of his release Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle reported two sources confirmed.
Schweigert sat out last week’s OTA media session Thursday with what coach Lane Kiffin called a leg injury. Schweigert lost his job to Hiram Eugene last year, and the Raiders signed safety Gibril Wilson in the offseason and have moved Michael Huff to Schweigert’s old position of free safety.
