McFadden Expectations
I wouldn't get your hopes up to high for McFadden. I don't see him as a full-time back at any point in his career. If he stays with us for a long time, Bush will be the primary back and he'll be his compliment. Bush is stronger and breaks more tackles. McFadden is lightning fast and can perform nice cuts, but he doesn't break tackles or juke well. And unless your primarily a pass heavy team, speed backs usually don't start but add relief. You can expect McFadden to get several big runs but Bush will most likely be 1st on the depth chart down the road.
Now as for this season, it won't be much different. Now I you're saying Fargas is a speed back and he starts. Yes, because we have a rookie and an older rookie. Fargas and Bush will carry the main load with McFadden delivering the occasional 20-40 yard run.
For the receiving aspect, McFadden is unchallenged among the RB roster. I expect him to get several receiving TDs, just as a Mr. Reggie Bush did for New Orleans. You may even see McFadden lined up with the WRs.
Finally, the person I may compare Darren to is Reggie Bush. He'll be lined up with Bush like Reggie's Deuce McAlister. Just as Deuce went down last season, Bush struggled with the load, just as McFadden would. I'm also worried about McFadden's injury prone running style that he shares with Fargas.
Now I'm not saying I hate McFadden, but I believe he's a tad overhyped. I look forward to seeing him break massive runs for TDs. He'll have the biggest highlight reel of everybody on roster. Peace out Nation and remember the words of Jack Tatum, "First one to cry's a wuss."

I Wouldn't Expect KA1ZER
to break my hopes, but you did just that. In my opinion, I expect him to be like Reggie Bush the first year, then like Tomlinson his second. They have a similar body frame.

I don't think
that he will be like Reggie bush, he will be better
as far as Tomlinson goes i don’t think he could get over 1,200 yards every season of his NFL career

I think that your wrong
Bush hasnt played a single down in the NFL and Justin Fargas is a 3 stringer at best at another team he had good games against weak teams and only scored 4 touchdowns how can anybody predict that hes going to have a good season next year when he gets hurt every season? Yes Bush can be a great Back but he is not proven at all, and Mcfadden can do it all put him in slot, play action and he can even throw the ball, if you compare him to reggie bush it might be a good thing the SAINTS went from 3-13 to 10-6 and NFC CHAMPIONSHIP the year they drafted REGGIE now can D-MAC have such an impact with the RAIDERS if hes compared to REGGIE?

I haven't been able to figure out
why experts and even this site are comparing Bush to McFadden. I think only because Kiffin had Bush at USC. Clearly there is no comparison nor ever will be. He is bigger than Bush and Peterson, faster than both of them so why the comparison? I guess it is because he has good hands like Bush, and can pass pretty well also but from where I sit the passing will be minimal at best although I do expect the Raiders to send him downfield a lot on pass plays. Bush is not sent downfield, he is given the ball on the wings and expected to go from there. None of us know whether he will be a bust or not, but I don’t think we will be looking at Richie Bush II. I agree with Rayder K, too much love is given to Fargas. He wouldn’t be a starter on any good team, and bet on him getting injured real early in the season. In fact that is my major fear that Fargas who always gets injured and Bush who is coming off an injury will be get hurt leaving us with McFadden as the only option and then seeing him get hurt.

High expectations...
There is really no reason to have anything but high expectations for McFadden. He proved himself at the collegiate level in the SEC, by far the toughest conference, including against LSU and the big, bad Glen Dorsey, who he shredded for 5 TD’s and over 500 yard in total offense in two games.
Also, McFadden will greatly prosper in our ZBS and will certainly be involved and on the field for a majority of the plays. More than Bush and more than Fargas. This offense with it’s blocking schemes is built for one cut and run and is a perfect fir for McFadden. KA1Z3R, if you will remember last season, Jordan had gapping holes to run through and did well but did not break long runs because he was just to slow. Fargas had the same holes and was always one half step off from breaking a big one because he does not possess the elite speed anymore.
You will see McFadden have a huge impact on the Raiders this season and we will not be comparing him with anybody. Au contraire, other teams will be comparing their backs to him and will be fearing when he is on the field.

Great Point
He is not intimidated. He killed the competition every year he was in that tough division. He is a great runner

so true Raider Way
Fargas had openings and made the most of it given his skill set.
The simple fact is Fargas is a tough nose guy who plays all out but is not a premier player in this league. The hope we all have is that McFadden given the same amount of space will make teams pay.
What no one is talking about is that for the first time in a long time, other teams will have to plan defenses to stop McFadden. In the past the Raiders did not have a breakaway receiver or runner. You damn well know that no team looked at the Raiders last year and tried to figure out how to stop Fargas, or Porter. Bunch up the defense, give up a few first downs and eventually the Raiders would stumble, off sides, drop pass, interception, something to kill the drive. With McFadden and Walker, all of a sudden the defense can get burned, they will have to lay back, open the field.

That's assuming
Walker won’t be banged up this season.
