Raiders Release Lamont Jordan

 This from Jerry Mcdonald:

The Raiders’ confirmed they had parted ways with running back LaMont Jordan, confirming his release on the transactions section of their Web site.

Coach Lane Kiffin said following the morning practice he expected something to happen soon with regard to Jordan. The Raiders have only three quarterbacks and could look to bring in another quarterback as a camp arm behind JaMarcus Russell, Andrew Walter and Marques Tuiasosopo.

With a $6.4 million salary cap number, the Raiders save $3.3 million against the cap by releasing Jordan. He was scheduled to make $4.7 million this season and $5 million next season. The Raiders will be charged $1.4 million in pro-rated bonus money in each of the next two years.

The Raiders wanted to trade Jordan, locking him out of offseason workouts and training camp, but apparently found no takers.

Lamont Jordan

A great player. Lost a step, but I remember when he was my favorite and one of the most exciting players for the raiders. You will not be forgotten. I will still stunt your jersey.

About Time

I give em credit for wanting to get something in trade; but he had to go. Bye bye…

McFadden, Fargas, Bush….no better backfield out there!

I never liked LaMont

I remember when we were playing the Niners in season. During a redzone play, LaMont carries the ball and attempts to stiff arm a niner defender with the same hand carrying the ball!!

I couldn’t believe it! The he was on the sidelines pounding the ground and biting a towel like a fool.

I can dig fumbling the ball on occasion, but losing it with a stiff arm is stupid. That was the game he also let go that live ball when he missed the lateral, which was then turned over for a niner touchdown.

Those were the most prevalent of the mistakes I could think of, but I know he’s f’ed it up a whole lot more.

Good riddance
