Patriot Ineptitude buoyed by terrible call
I remember where I was...........AT THE GAME with my son. He had his white Jerry Rice jersey on and I had a black Charles Woodson jersey on. Some coward Pats fan had poured some hot chocolate on the back of my son's jersey during the game (we didn't notice until the game was over) and he was lucky that we didn't know about it until after the game because I'm sure that my son had a Jack Tatum type hit in him for the coward if he'd been caught. Anyway..........to all of the recently (geologically speaking) just climbed out from under their wet rock pats fans ( who have all seemed to have crawled back under their wet rocks since the GIANTS win), look at the first Super Bowl win for the Pats. I think the Raiders would have to attain about 15 more years of ineptitude to reach the standard of ineptitude attained by the Pats of having been in the league some 40 years before winning the title.

Man, That pisses me off:
I am so sick of the punk ass Boston/New England fans. That is just like them to pour hot chocolate on a white jersey in a wussy ass way.
I remember after the A’s swept a series from the Sawx a sauced up Sawx fan kicked garbage all over an old man’s car and then squared up to fight him, when I stepped in he backed down and then his friend sucker punched me from behind and then they ran off.
I hate those guys!!!
I can’t wait for the REVENGE in Oakland this year!!!

That's right
If it weren’t for 9/11, we probably still would have a no championship team in the Patriots. It’s just an NFL merchandising scheme that we are all going along with. Any current Pat fans I see are posers just jumping on the winning team band wagon. Luckily they lost their best defensive player in Asante Samuel(the best CB in the league these past 2 seasons) and will now go back to their losing ways.

So much wrong here
So, because of 9/11, which happened in New York (not Boston), the league rigged the past 6 years to give the Patriots 3 super bowl wins, culminating in a perfect regular season where the Pats lose the super bowl?
That doesn’t add up.
Asante Samuel is a top 5 CB, the best CB has been Champ for quite some time. Losing Ty Law, who was better than Samuel, didn’t hurt them and neither will losing Asante.
Asante is not their best defensive player, although it’s hard to nail down exactly who is. Seymour, Wilfork, and Thomas would all be in the discussion.

Justified
Thomas has only been on the team one year and was okay but not the best. Rodney Harrison is better than Seymour and Wilfork. And even after they won the super bowl in 2002, the announcer said “and this is a patriotic win for America.” Asante Samuel has the most interceptions out of any cornerback the past 2 seasons. Which technically makes him the best defensive back in the league not just the best Patriot. It’s a marketing scheme for sales because Boston teams have been awful until recently. As long as the stadium keeps filling up, there’s no reason to improve.

None of what you're saying makes sense
Just because you get a lot of picks doesn’t mean you’re the best corner. Asante is very good, but is at least one corner in the league better than him (Champ Bailey, hands down),
Harrison is terrible, he’s only good for unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and pass interference. He’s one of the dirtiest players in the game. He couldn’t cover if his life depended on it.
Why would the NFL or any league other than the NBA care about whether Boston teams are winning?
Winning is a marketing scheme now?
As long as the stadium keeps filling up there is no reason to improve? They’re consistently the best team in football, what do you mean improve?

I was speaking on
teams like the Browns. They sucked for many years but never really did anything to get better because they stadium kept filling up. Fans buy merchandise from the teams that are winning. Nobody really use to like the Patriots until now because they’re winning which is why you see these morons with Brady jerseys or other Pats stuff and really don’t know crap about football. Boston teams had sucked for so long it was time to sell some of their merchandise. But mainly since the NFL has a team called the “Patriots,” they decided since 9/11 happened that it would be “a win for America.” Greed is what makes the world go round. And Champ Bailey is not the best corner in the league. I think Deangelo Hall, Nate Clements, and Asante Samuel would have something to say about that. I say Deangelo Hall because he was on the worst team in the league and still made the pro bowl 2 of 4 years and now will be one the elite corners and be in the top 10 in interceptions.

You need to revise your CB thinking
Champ Bailey is hands down, not even close, the best corner in the league.
Nnamdi, Samuel, Hall, and maybe one or two others are the second tier, and then players like Trufant, Newman, Cromartie would be the third tier. Nate Clements was pretty average last year, so I’m going to hold judgement before I rank him, but previous to that he was a high caliber player.
Can you offer one shred of evidence that points to the NFL rigging the past 7 years of football? And remember, conjecture is not fact.

Do you really think
that those were the only video tapes the Patriots had? They could have hundreds more that have already been disposed of they were most likely studying week to week. And I never said the past 7 years have been rigged. I said 2002 was rigged because of the tuck rule and 9/11. That was the start of the Patriots winning era. The way they kept winning after that was by video taping defensive signals and offensive signals. The cheer leading videos were probably just done for a cover up in case they ever did actually get caught. Bill Belicheat is an average coach and truly was a terrible coach in Cleveland. He let go of Bernie Kosar to start Vinny Testaverde and that should sum up his career as being legit. Even the guys on NFL network say he cheated but in a non direct way. Jamie Dukes was asked the question, “What would you buy for Bill Belichick as a gift?” He responded by saying “A video camera.” Tom Brady’s career is a lie.

The tuck rule was called correctly
unless you think that Tagliabue somehow went back in time and changed the rules when that play went down. It sucks, the rule sucks, but the call was right.
Lets be honest about the potential impact of those videos. This is what would have to happen for those videos to have any impact in the same game. The first half they video tape signals, towards the end of the second quarter a staff goes over all of the previous plays and correlate which signals go with which plays. They then write up a brief on the information they’ve uncovered. During half time, 15 minutes or so, they give the tape and the brief to Bellichick. Bellichick then devises a gameplan, or atleast finds plays in his play books that would match up with the defensive signals they have unearthed. He then has to disseminate all that info to his players and get them all on the same page. This was prepostorous when the accusations were just defensive play calls, but you think he managed to do it for both the O and the D? Thats a joke.
Teams frequently change up their signals. You always hear about teams working on their signals before going into a loud road stadium. Why are they always reviewing? Because they’re always changing them! The most likely impact is that a few times a year they may have gotten a heads up on a defensive call, which goes a long way towards getting a big play. But you still have to execute, a perfect play call does you no good when the pass is overthrown or dropped, or a snap is muffed.
Belichick was not a terrible coach in Cleveland. He was pretty average, having a lot of years right around .500, one 11-5 year that got him in the playoffs followed by a 5-11 year that got him fired. Testeverde was a decent QB, and lets not pretend like Kosar was some kind of HoF QB. And what did Bernie do after he Belichick sat him? Nothing, he was at the end of his career. Testeverde played 14 more years in the NFL.
I don’t even need to say anything about Brady, if you really believe that then you need to give up on football.
Can you please knock off the jealously stuff and respect what a truely great team has accomplished? I see a lot of people here complaining about the wrap that Al Davis gets in the media and around the nation, lets not turn around and do the same thing to other teams.

Hey
if you love Belicheat and the Pats so much then please move to Boston and wear Patriots gear like every other football poser. They said from the spygate scandal that one player was involved with the coaches too. Which would most likely be the starting quarterback(Tom Brady). And if seriously think Vinny Testaverde was a better quarterback overall than Bernie Kosar, then you need to give up on football. Teams don’t change their signals that much because they don’t expect other teams to video tape them and study them. The tuck rule is the most bull crap ever invented because they have never called it before or after that game since. They saved it for a specific game like that one and you will never hear that rule called again. Next time this supposed rule happens it will be ruled a fumble. To sum this all up even the NFL network has created a segment called the NFL’s top 10 feuds. The number one feud is called Raiders vs. the world because they get screwed so much. Even the NFL admits it. Tom Brady himself admitted that it was a fumble.
