Adam Treu Wrote A Tremendous Article:
"Thanks for the comments. There are some really valid points in them. If you’re a player, Mr. Davis is the best owner to play for. He was nothing short of stellar to me in my ten years there. But I know that does not always extend beyond the players. My frustration stems from newly hired coaches professing an “understanding” of how unusually run this organization is, only to get miffed they don’t have full autonomy. It’s no secret Mr. Davis is a hands-on owner. So what you’re left with is a new head coach every couple of years, who only used the Raiders to get a foot in the door, and an organization that has no continuity. But the ones really losing out here are the young players."
That is straight from a player's mouth.

Great article
It is a hell of a lot more believable hearing this from a player that was there for 10 years then the something-to-prove, a-holes in the media. And, I have said before every time in my comments on this subject, Kiffin’s grievances about how the team is run and his thoughts about Al Davis should have been kept in-house and never, never been put in the media. By doing that he clearly is only looking out for himself.

It's going to backfire on Kiffin
Don’t think for a second that other NFL executives and college athletic directors aren’t taking note of Kiffin’s passive-aggressive and “don’t blame me” attitude. If Kiffin can’t tow the company line even a little teams are going to be apprehensive of hiring him.
Hey Kiff, Al Davis didn’t create the gameplan that made the team look lost on Monday Night Football. Al Davis didn’t put Javon Walker in the doghouse despite the WR core struggles early on. Al Davis didn’t call the plays that led to a field goal even when we started from the KC 9 YARD LINE! Take some responsibility man, jeez.
If it really was going to come to this I would rather Davis had fired him as soon as Kiffin started bitching to the media about not being able to fire Ryan. At least then we wouldn’t be going through this. That’s not to say that I’m for firing Kiffin, because he does run the offense and we need some continuity there, but other than that I’m not impressed with his interpersonal and communication skills.
Another thing Adam Treu hit on the head is that, along with Jerry Jones, Al Davis has got to be one of the better owners to play for. I remember when Dan Turk was battling cancer Davis would call him periodically, years after he had played for the Raiders. I believe that Davis cares very deeply for his players, both current and past.

The differenc with Jerry Jones, is, he realized he is the owner, not the coach, and he has pretty
much kept his ass in the owners box, where Al should stay. After the Jimmy Johnson debacle, he let his coaches coach.

You can't really blame the Coaches
This line struck me more than any: So what you’re left with is a new head coach every couple of years, who only used the Raiders to get a foot in the door, and an organization that has no continuity.
Personally I dont feel connected to the coach as I do to the player, but Davis has to have some blame, I mean he’s the one hiring these young coaches. What Raider fans want more than anything right now is a good coach that can stick with us in the long term. But instead Davis continues to hire young inexperienced coaches. What do you expect out of them? Now the next coach is going to be Lofton or Ryan? Neither has experience being the head coach, at any level, let alone the NFL.
