Jon Gruden and Bruce Allen
both just got fired from the bucs. do you see ANY way al davis brings him back and do you see anyway that gruden or allen COME back? it worked well before so i got excited even though i kno its unlikely they would return to oakland.
speakin of GM's, i havnt heard anyword of them searching for a GM at all? i thought al wanted to give it a shot with a GM? have you guys heard anything about that at all?

Al wants to
hire all his coaches first then draft his players then hire a GM and when it doesn’t work out fire the GM.

Again when people leave Oakland, it’s never on good terms any more. So Davis won’t hire him back, and he won’t come back.
As for the GM. Well Davis is going to hire a “GM-type” person. But I think that’s another lie. Due to the fact we’ve hired a secondary coach, assistants, and no HC as of yet (all signs say Cable).

Now that I think about it
though, KC has a GM and aren’t Gruden and Allen a package deal?

Interesting write up if Gruden and/or Allen could return. Apparently, Gruden isn’t upset any more w/ Davis.

Don't want them back - especially Chucky
This has nothing to do with whether or not he gets along with Davis. Gruden’s problem is that his team have consistently sucked flaming donkey balls during the month of December, when playoffs are made or lost.
Here are Gruden’s December and January regular season records (team overall record):
1998: 1-3 (8-8)
1999: 3-2 (8-8)
2000: 2-2 (12-4) To this day, I want to puke whenever I see Tony Siragusa
2001: 2-4 (10-6) Losing the last three in a row meant the Raiders had to play the Patsies in Foxboro instead of in Oakland, and we all know how well that turned out.
2002: 3-2 (12-4) Won the Superbowl with Dungy’s defense and Callahan’s incompetence (not to mention Barret Robbins)
2003: 2-2 (7-9)
2004: 1-5 (5-11)
2005: 4-1 (11-5) This was Gruden’s only strong late-season showing.
2006: 1-4 (4-12)
2007: 2-3 (9-7)
2008: 0-4 (9-7) FAIL!
Overall last month of the season record for Chucky: 21-32

Tom Cable finishes strong!
(ha)
Good stuff, doctork. For a guy who likes to break down the seasons into four quarters, it seems strange that his teams would break down in the “fourth quarter”.

Gwen Knapp
reports that John Herrera made it clear that reconciliation was out of the question:
“We’ve been down that road,” he told Chronicle beat writer David White. “That would be reckless speculation to think that that would be any sort of a possibility.”
So, take that how you want, but it seems we won’t see Gruden in Oakland again.

I don't think
Gruden would even want to come back to Oakland after Al Davis fired him for no apparent/good reason.

Al Davis
did not fire him. Gruden wanted more money. He probably deserved it. Davis didn’t want to give him more money. So he traded him to TB for money and draft picks.

Yep exactly
He definently deserved it after getting screwed in New England. We should’ve won that game and Tom Brady even admitted it was a fumble. I haven’t heard the “tuck rule” called in a game since that happened.
