I don't know how this slipped by BUT, Rob Ryan is granted permission to interview with Jets

I say, good bye and good riddance.

I like the core of our defense and this guy got about 1/10 of what they had to offer.

Kalimba Edwards, Tommy Kelly, Terdell Sands, Gerard Warren, Jay Richardson, Derek Burgess, Kirk Morrison, Nnamdi Asomugha, Thomas Howard, Trevor Scott, Gibril Wilson, Michael Huff and we cannot stop the run?

My sig line by Nnamdi says it all. Rob either had no answer to most offensive scheme changes or just flat out didn't care. His brother must have gotten the good Buddy Ryan chromosones while he got the left overs.

Ryan Hired by Browns at DC

Mangini picked off our DC

Maybe he blitzed to hurry the QB into the pick (LOL)

Looks like the coach whoever that is is getting a complete new staff as Rathman also is out along w Knapp. Plus all the others that left w Kiffin.

Man

I hope we know what we are doing. But I think this confirms a new GM. Ryan was Al’s fav and him leaving has to mean something.

I'd like to see Milliard be DC

I think it was time for Ryan to leave

It is always good for players to have to prove themselves again. Unlike most of the people on this site I didn’t think he did a bad job. The Raider defense was always hampered by a bad offense who never scored, never sustained drives and never did anything when they got good field position. There were at least 4 games this year the Raiders would have won with any kind of offensive support, most notably the Carolina game with 4 interceptions and still no scores. As for run defense, it is more than having good tackles, it is linebackers filling holes, making plays, defensive backs tackling runners etc. Frankly, our linebackers are very over rated, and until that is fixed the run defense will not improve.
I don’t mind losing the coaches we have lost, who cares about Knapp. It is always good for a new coach to be able to get his own people on the staff. There are no shortage of talented assistant coaches.
