I agree with all except Lechler
I know he’s a fantastic player and is probably our greatest punter ever, but that’s just it. He’s a punter. Though he’s the best in the league, punters are expendable. Just et someone with a booming leg and use the money on something of more need. I’m not hating on Lechler, I just don’t see him coming back next year.

I don't understand
why you minimize the importance the a punter to a football team and especially the Raiders, who for the moment are offensively challenged.
Lechler, with his distance, hang-time and placement are not easily replaced just because he is a “punter”. How many more points would the Raiders have given up were it not for all those touch backs coffin corners. He is worth his value and the Raiders will find a way to sign Nnamdi long-term,(even if that means trading him for a bounty after) and they will use the franchise tag on Lechler
Lechler is part of the defense and would not be easily replaced.
Your team is your child...You love it no matter what.

look i'm just saying
we’re tight on cash (thanks for that one Al) and I think the money that we’d spend to resign him would be better spent resigning say Chris Johnson or maybe signing a free agent.

lechler is definitely
the only unreplaceable player on the team. He must stay regardless of anything..

Punters are not expensive commodities
so imagine the Raiders will sign him unless he wants to go home to Texas and play for the Cowboys or Texans.

Pretty ambitious
to give someone else (or else’s) 2% of the decisions.

My hopeful predictions
RELEASE JAVON WALKER AND KWAME HARRIS PLEASE!!!
And mike I like all those predictions you have except Reggie Williams. He is a number 3 receiver at best. I say we trade Justin Fargas to the Bengals for Chad Johnson and name Michael Bush the starter with Darren McFadden as the change of pace back. If we really need a third running back, Louis Rankin in the preseason last year looked very impressive and could be a starter on some teams. But, my point is we don’t need 3 starting running backs because one will have to sit out the whole game and that’s just a waste of money.

The Bengals
traded Rudi Johnson to the Lions. They won’t re-sign Cedric Benson since he ended up having a great season and Mike Brown is too cheap They are looking to get rid of Chad because he is a negative influence in the locker room.
Black and Silver Express I agree with you that Chad is kind of like T.O. but his talent is undeniable and our receiver corps is weak at best. We need a deep threat or atleast a guy that will be double covered all day like Chad so that our young guys can get a chance to develop and catch some balls in single coverage. (Plus I’d love to see Chad and Johnnie Lee doing some celebration dances)
We took a chance on Randy Moss after his shenanigans in Minnesota but that’s just it. We drafted the strongest armed quarterback to ever play the game, and then we traded Randy Moss. That didn’t make much sense to me at the time but I am glad it happened now because I would rather have Michael Bush over Randy “butterfingers” Moss any day of the week. Randy earned that nickname in his tenure with Oakland, it’s probably unheard of now that he’s a Patriot but I know I sure as hell will never forget how he purposely dropped the ball for the Raiders just because he didn’t like Art Shell. Chad Johnson is definently worth looking at to bolster our receiver talent.

I'm not so sure
He wanted to come here last season. And I think he’d be okay.

NO NO NO Chad Johnson!
The Raiders need to be a team and Johnson is a me first person. Chad would definately influence the lockerroom in the wrong way. You don’t bring a cancer to a team with a 24-72 record the past 6 seasons. I would be all for it if we had stable group of players to balance out his antics. We don’t. To pick him up would definately ensure us the title of the greatest sideshow on earth.

I say all this because
Bush ran all over the Bucs which is one of the top defenses in the league. I don’t remember Fargas even breaking the 100 yard mark this whole season. Out of the 3 backs, Fargas is definently the weakest link. He may be the toughest runner in the history of the game, but that doesn’t make him the best.

With the past history of the Raiders...
I’m guessing Plaxico is cut at the end of the playoffs by the Giants, and since Al Davis is in love with recievers who were shot, he’s going to give him a six year deal.
Nelly has wet dreams about starting Monta at center.
