Hey-bey!! Bust or Boom?

DHB is obviously not meant to be an instant sensation.

He has not done anything noteworthy or significant this season and wasn't spectacular in the off season. The pick widely ridiculed, question, and openly mocked on television. But his potential is undeniable and I would like to start a discussion to take our minds off the current season and look to the future. Will he be a Superstar or an all out bust-typical AD-wasted pick player.

Poll

Yay.

I’ll let you know after this season ends.

I think it's hard to tell at this point

with the way Russell has been playing and the fact he is a rookie WR. If he can control the dropping of the ball, he does have the speed to stretch the field.

He has played 3 GAMES!!!

and he is drawing double coverage, that is part of the reason Murphy is open more. That being said he hasnt set the world on fire but lets not jump off the deep end.

Receivers are only as good as their QBs...

If the guy throwing the ball sucks, not much the receiver can do.

That's not entirely true

WR’s tha drop balls or don’t get open make the QB look bad. It just happens that you’re comment reflects our QB a lot.

DHB is about where I expected him to be

A lot of rookie receivers struggle. At the same time, I never expected much from DHB. I’d love to be proven wrong but I haven’t seen any sparks from him—you can usually tell when a kid is going to be a talent in the NFL. Murphy, by comparison, makes mistakes but he’s also making catches and helping the team even with JR as our hapless QB.

It’s only 3 games, as Ozraider said. Really, I’m more wondering why Javon Walker is not playing. If we’re paying him $$ and he’s healthy, he should be out there rather than DHB right now.

Murphy's getting

those catches cuz DHB is always double-covered. Not saying DHB is doing well, just saying DHBs presence makes Murphy’s job that much easier.

This guy has all the tools, and is a bright young kid and a student of the game

We knew, as did the experts in the world of football scouting talent, that DHB is a developmental kid. I’ve said before, now more than ever a team needs to have three solid wideouts to be dangerous, and one of them shouldn’t be the tight end.

Historically, the best qbs had ’em. Was true with Marino, Unitas, Aikman, Namath, Brady, Montana. A dominant #1, a solid and sometimes better than the 1 #2, and a three, usually a possession type guy, if an x factor even better.

He’ll be a number 1, simply based on speed and if he can remain a student of the game and learn from the best (It is not ever unlikely for Rice or Brown to just show up at the facility) and figure out the things it takes to be great in the NFL, he’ll develop.

For now, we’ll only see flashes, but the great part is that he will be part of a receiver tandem, they’re all big, strong, and fast—necessary tools to be physical, create separation, and explode out of breaks in patterns. A little polishing and this guy will be outplaying Maclin, Murphy, Crabtree, and even Harvin. All of these guys bring their own thing to the table, and are uniquely superior at certain aspects, but DHB will evolve to be a more complete package, and a true #1.

Patience, Nation, Patience! I know it’s fucking hard, but believe. The problems we’ve had will continue to plague us but look forward to the flashes of brilliance due to the depth and variety of talent we have.

indeed...

another thing to mention is that everyday in practice he has to be covered by the best corner in the league, nnamdi, that experience alone will make him better each day. This team is so younger, like brhynno mentions, we must be patient.

hes a reciever

THAT CANT CATCH THE BALL!!!
its like a fish without fins. wtf? thats retarded. i would take a reciever that can catch every ball thrown his way but runs a 5.5 40yrd dash over some track star that can get 30 yards in 2 seconds just to drop the ball any day….
dhb seriously needs practice catching… not route running… catching…. i say have him just stand there n play catch with charlie fry all day….

and isaac bruce before a monster year, Randy dropped a lot of balls for the Raiders, Terrell continues to drop a high percentage of passes

What does that prove? Remember, key word here is receiver corps…
when we have one, you will see a tremendous difference. Mark my words.

Until then, I’m sick of you guys calling dudes a bust when they’ve barely played in the league. You probably said it about Nnamdi and Michael Huff, Mario Henderson.

Give the guys a chance, or jump on a bandwagon like the other milktoasts who can’t take the good with the bad.

Well right now it's not fair

to decide if our rookie WR is good or not w/ the current QB situation.

We have a young team!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I know it’s ugly right now, but please be patient we have a young team that will get better, we are a defensive nose tackle and a middle linebacker away from a strong D. Let the line gel maybe another tackle and a solid summer with JR and these new receivers and we will really have a team to look at.
Go RAAAAAAADASSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
