I still want Gruden back

The more I watch Monday Night Football this year the more I miss Gruden's passion for the game.He brings an enthusiasm that has been missing in Oakland since his premature departure from these parts a while back.I have a feeling he will be Notre Dame's new coach next season but if he comes back to the NFL I hope it is with the Raiders and not the San Diego Chargers because I think he could get all this talent to play at a very high level and The Raiders don't want him coaching Phillip Rivers and The Chargers. Can you imagine how good they would be if they had Gruden instead of Norv Turner.Cable is ok as a coach but I think Gruden could get more out of this team.

I know I said we should bring back Gruden last week

and if that happened i would not be disappointed but I just watched the monday interview with Cable from raiders.com and he always impresses me when he speaks. At this stage of the teams development in a lot of ways the W-L record is insignificant – we are not making the playoffs this year, I just want to see the team play hard every week and if Cable can get that same effort most weeks from here I will be very happy.

if we bring gruden back

what will happen to the players in terms of the type of coaching they were getting?

We were lucky we got Cable

Cable is the guy. He needs an OC and two more years.

i would say bring gruden

but in a shocking move, make him gm
he has tons of football smarts. let him make the big decisions that effect the team
cable is a good coach and i like him there what with the playcall and getting the guys rallied (some times), but i have yet to see his decision making skills pay off…. or maybe we could have him be gm AND playcaller… i wouldnt mind that too much

Never really liked the whole Gruden thing until I started hearing him on MNF. The dude is smart and intense with passion for the game. Any team would be lucky to have him. His life would be sooo much different if it weren’t for that snowy night in NE. That may have cost you 2 SB’s.
