Thats a stupid thing to say....

Slaton IS A VERY GOOD RUNNING BACK. He put TWO 100 yard game on the titans last year on his way to racking yo 1300 yards on the ground.

Our offense is not going to be stopped by the raiders D….lol.

What a concept! See what happens when both parties decide to actually play!

Finally.

We need to see that more. Russell needs to pretend he’s trying to inflict pain to a recievers’ chest with the ball.

The offensive line can’t block for the run, the receivers couldn’t catch a basketball, and Chris Johnson is one of the biggest pieces of shit I’ve ever seen in my life.

Best player on the field for the Raiders today. Look, I wanted to win this game as bad as the rest of you, but JaMarcus progressing matters, too. And he is making good decisions on almost every play today. So that matters.

This is not his 3rd pro season. It’s his 2nd. He sat out his first. You can say whatever the hell you want but when he signed on the dotted line in week whatever it was, his first season was lost. Blame Al Davis for that. He held out on the kid and then paid him exactly what he wanted. He tried to set precedence for #1 picks and then ended up getting nothing accomplished. To me, the way Davis handled the JaMarcus signing was just proof that his time as a great owner and GM was over. What’s happening now is just more concrete evidence. I’m not totally sold on DHB being a bust yet, but it’s looking more and more like the Raiders got the shit end of the stick in a receiver heavy draft.

by Aemoc on Oct 4, 2009 1:39 PM PDT up reply actions

This is JRs THIRD pro season....

….just as I said. I understand your point: it is his second season as a STARTER. I agree with you about how the Raiders have handled JR when they signed him…and I think the mistakes have continued to this day.

But let’s focus on JR. Yesterday, I read that JR told the press that he EARNED the starting position. REALLY? When was that? And even more, although JR didn’t start in his first season, he was the anointed choice. He was at practice, he had a playbook, he worked with the first squad, with the QB coach. EVERYONE knew JR was going to be the starter and he was treated like that from the first day, as far as I can tell. That first year, he may not have been a starter, but he was the golden boy. There are lots of QBs who spend years sitting on the bench, working with the practice squad, and then are expected to walk out on the field at 30 seconds notice and play respectable football. And they do. JR has had every opportunity for two seasons and is now in his third. It’s time to stop making excuses for this guy. I don’t expect a pro bowl performance this year, but I do expect above average play, leadership and, above all, someone who CARES. I don’t see any of these things in Russell in this, his THIRD season as a pro.

He has potential but the Raiders need to do 2 things in my opinion:

1. Bring a veteran qb in to run the defense. Let Russell back him up for a year and learn.

2. Bring in a strong QB coach to help him.

He should not be starting.

You guys have the weapons. You are a decent QB away from being a good team.

Russel just does not have the mental part of the game. Can he learn it? Maybe, but he does not deserve to be playing right now. He wasn’t drafted to take 4 years to learn how to play QB, he was drafted to start and play from day one. It’s year three and he seems to have gotten worse.

We need a veteran QB and an old fashion dominant Raider O-line.

JR did not lose this game

nor did he win it. He’s going to be the starter, full stop. He needs to go through this to develop; it’s painful but he’ll get there as long as he puts the time in. What we did not get was a running game; MacD lost his swagger and Bush got fumblelitist. Offence of line was not explosive to win battles. Special team was a disaster. D needed to create more turnover instead, we got lapse of concentration by Chris Johnson who put us in a hole on big plays.

Yeah.

The failure of this game isn’t on Russell directly this time. The team just fell apart.

Worst 3 game span I have ever seen the Raiders play

THis is pathetic. Aaron Brooks and Andrew Walter think this is sad, WTF is with the play calling. Cable needs to bring in and offensive coordinator and stop doing this himself. He obviously can’t handle it. Fargs up the middle, Fargas up the middle, Fargas up the middle. Why in the hell is Russel throwing over 30 times a game? I’m tired of our team being the punchline of the NFL!!!!
If you look at the schedule the only winnable game the Raiders have is well over a month from now when KC comes to Oakland. Maybe we can get another top 5 draft pick and get another 4.3 DB for 25 million. THIS SUCKS!

oh but we're so close!

I love these guys, but I don’t think they will win another game this year.
If Tom Cable comes out again and says, “We’re so close. . .” I might lose my mind

Winnable Games

We still have the Browns, Redskins and Chiefs.

so that's 4 and 12 again. Then Cable will be fired cuz Davis is a fool and we'll go through this all over again.

We need to all get a petition and sign it and send it t Davis to step down or get a GM.

Right now it's hard to see the Raiders winning another game

but the Browns and the Chiefs games are two they could win. Of course they’ll probably surprise us and win a game or two that we didnt’ think they could win but the end result sure looks like another 11 or more games lost.

by sirbed on Oct 4, 2009 5:40 PM PDT up reply actions

So that leaves us at...

4-12 again… 7th year, continue the longest streak of 11 loss seasons.
Can Al’s kid step in and assume control? What about the other owners that control 30%? Can’t they do something? THis is just unbearable to watch year in year out.
For Al, it seems ego is the only thing that matters.

Goddell

is a conservative moron and he won’t do anything to help. But if the games don’t keep selling out maybe then he’ll step in and either have the NFL take over the team or sell it.

The league can't step in and takeover a team

that’s not how it works. The team is owned by Davis and he can do what he wants with it. If the league could step in then the Ford family would have lost the Lions years ago along with the Bidwells in Arizona.

At this point...

Georgia Frontiere would be a better owner.

WHY?

Why do yhe raiders suck so bad. I refuse to buy any more Raider gear untill they win at least 1 game!

by Anth on Oct 4, 2009 4:50 PM PDT reply actions

Well we won 1 game already :P

No I’m kidding. I feel your pain. Except the gear doesn’t go to the Raiders probably. It’s all NFL licensed so I think it goes to the NFL. But NOT buying would probably send a message to them anyway even if not monetary.

Not buying tickets would hurt them more.

winnable games

I will agree those are winnable games for the team that played against the Chargers, but for the team that showed up for the last 3 games? The Browns were getting it rolling today minus a couple big plays. KC is not going to the Raiders get away with that kind of win again. That leaves Washington, maybe. The Raiders just seem to be going backwards every game! A lot of players look like they have given up. Murphy’s enthusiasm needs to catch on.

here's an idea

Mr. Davis you have done some amazing things, but can we trade next year’s number 1 overall pick for another owner?

by imisstimbrown on Oct 4, 2009 4:59 PM PDT reply actions

Dont give up the faith, Raiders fans...

I hate the Raiders, but I know how they feel for like the past 7 years.

Bowe and Wade FTW.
