LETS HELP AL

In Dark Times.....

Star-divide

This is just a little poll I created to have some fun in these dark times for Raider Nation.  Have some fun with it.  It is not meant to be serious in the least, but sometimes looking at terrible situations with humor can be helpful.  I really believe this franchise will win again, but as long as the current owner has control, what we see is what we are going to get.  SO, I came up with a poll to help Davis decide what to do with our first round draft pick......lets help him.

Poll
With our certian top five pick in the upcoming NFL draft, Davis should:
Start over at QB
14 votes
Focus on the O line
33 votes
DEFENSE, BABY!!!!
10 votes
Trade the pick to New England for their laundry guy
20 votes

Ay no way in hell am I Giving up now

I waited wayyy to long to give up in the 5th week If this is what we fans think we will be (another top 5 pick) how do you think the players would think they might as well just take a knee the whole game and be in prevent defense the whole game if the players lost hope and I haven’t seen that from them so I better not see them from any of us.

Amazing, Jamarcus Russell hands off to McFadden who pitches it back to Russell who finds Darrius Heyward Bey in the Middle of the Field wide open 30, 20,10,5 Touchdown Raiders! Amazing. This telecast is Brought to you by Cable.

I ll never give up…..I have been a fan for too many years. However, don t you think its time for this organization to put a product on the field that is at LEAST competitive? I get tired of watching semi-pro football week after week, but I will be a RAIDERS FAN til the day i die……thanks for voting, bro

Finally a fanpost that doesn't make me want to take a shower after reading it

Thank you raidernation68. I voted for the laundry guy hey we need to clean house and it would help if the people who did that have clean clothes.

I guess my second choice would be on the offensive line. The group we have now isn’t doing very well and while I think the Raiders are going to need a new quarterback next season I’d like to see them bring in a veteran guy instead of another 1st round pick.

No doubt...

Can Cooper Carlisle PLEASE refrain from picking up a holding penalty on the RARE occasion the Raiders are in the opponents red zone??

by raidernation68 on Oct 8, 2009 7:26 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

If that line could just stop having so many penalties it would help a bit

but the simple truth is it’s not a group with a lot of talent. If the Raiders can improve their line then I think you’d see McFadden and Bush maybe reach their potential.

by sirbed on Oct 8, 2009 7:46 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

true that, and doesn't a lot of the repetitive penalties fall on the coaching?

That Cable is a line guy on top of that…

agree this unit would be considered much better if not for the penalties; unfortunately there’s very little body of work we have to look at with these guys that has even a series without a penalty!

I went defense, because defense wins championships! Know that’s a cliche but a stud NT and we’d be dominant and physical again. A true MLB so Morrison could slide to Sam and definitely a tackle on the O line.

Still think we’re but a few players away from being there. Know it’s early to judge Cable as a coach, but how awesome would it be to get a guy like Dungy or Madden. Like Singletary is for the Niners. Woodson, Tim Brown at position coach? Too bad Davis f’d those chances up and burnt so many bridges.

I can't see Madden coming back he's 75 years old and hasn't coached

in well over 30 years. I don’t see Dungy coming back anytime soon either.

You’re right that defense is important but and I’d love to see them get another DT in there but not with a pick in the first round as DT’s in the 1st round have been mostly busts especially early in the draft.

One thing is for sure the Raiders are more than one player away from being good but there is some young talent on the team that I hope can grow and flourish under the right coaching.

yeah... it was more like fantasizing for a miracle. Today's game might've passed the one Madden excelled in

and for whose reign as coach still finds the Raiders the most winning franchise in history.

It’s not even cool to say it when the teams since will go down in history of losing so many games they allowed another franchise to pass it. This is not the franchise of then.

But I was just talking about someone legendary like that, because we’d need a guy like that right about now.

From Jerry Mac's Chat

“I know that Al is stubborn but how can any rational person look at the disaster that is the last six years and acknowledge that what they are doing is clearly not working anymore? What is it going to take for Al to get to that place?

jerrymac: Has it been your experience with relatives and such that the older you get, the more you listen to outside ideas, suggestions, etc? Or do you get more stubborn and closed-minded, sticking to the way you’ve done things forever . . ."

I think that about sums it up right there.

DEfense wins championships

i’d like them to take a DT or LB in the first two rounds

New Coaches!....again.

Im with the idea of taking Berry or Suh!watched Suh last night…playing in the rain…amazing talent at nearly 300lbs! make a great NT for our new 3-4 D next year, because 4-3 is getting killed.resign Seymore, Convince Ellis to stay 1 more and we’ll see a killer D! J-russ needs help on the line too,but i think we can get a free agent and high draft pick to fill that need.Trading the draft pick to clear a little more cash wouldnt be a horrible idea either! Hell, just move the team to L.A. already and restart like the Browns/Ravens deal, just dont be the Browns!

i said o-line, but its waaaay too early

my answer will probably be changed to QB if russell doesnt figure it out this season. but even then i would just much rather have “best overall player at a position of need”

Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!
