Can underdog Raiders play a "David" role and beat "Goliath" Giants?

Hey, anything is possible right? Perhaps, but how? What can they do to win?

#1:  Michael Bush. Gotta pound the rock with the hard hitting, downhill running, between the tackles from Bush. Much like the last game of 08 vs Tampa Bay, Bush seems to become stronger as the game progresses, gradually wearing down the defense, as well as allowing play action to be more effective. In addition to Bushes bruising runs, a change of pace can be utilized by mixing in Fargas, which will give the defense a different look but continue to pound into them with more hard running. And even if the run isn't as effective as we'd like it to be, give it a chance. Stick to it and grind it a bit! The Giants do allow the most yards per carry at 5.1 yards per attempt. If we can take advantage of that and use it to relieve a little pressure off of Russell, perhaps we can keep our defense off the field and who knows, maybe score some points!

#2:  Stop the run. Contain the running of Edwards and force Eli to throw the ball. Get some pressure from Seymour and Ellis and allow our corners to play their game. Get some hurried pass attempts or sacs and next thing you know, your defense is getting off of the field and giving the offense more opportunities to control the clock.  The defense has been playing rather well this year and with a little support from a more efficient and effective running offense,  maybe they can continue to build confidence.

#3:  Limit mistakes. Cut the penalties and eliminate the turnovers! And don't have mental breakdowns on special teams!

These are all just fundamental ideas, but if we can execute these basic principles somewhat efficiently, then there isn't any reason why we can't beat the Giants!

Now who's with me?

Who's Edwards?

You mean Jacobs and /or Bradshaw right?

Passing the rock and keeping 8 out of the box will be a step in the right direction. Keep the D honest and guessing is another way, Better play calling and accuracy on JR’s part will make it competitive. But stranger things have happened.

good luck, no injuries

It’s a big spread in vegas but this has all the markings of being one of those games we Giants fans know too well, like when Cleveland beat the hell out of us last year, even though we beat Pitt and Baltimore. I’ll be watching and nervous as always. Most of all, here’s to neither team losing any key players… the injury bug has been the Giants’ biggest hurdle this year. A lot of tomorrow’s game may have a lot to do with whether the Giants’ 2-5 options for receivers step up, but you’re probably used to that scenario. Peace guys, and thanks to Raybin for being our well-received guest over at BBV

Well, the Raiders have the talent, they just need to use it.

I like your optimism RaiderFan_21

but I don’t think the Raiders have near enough talent to beat the Giants in a road game.

Remember back in 06?

We beat the heavily favored Steelers in the dark ages of the Art Shell Bread and Breakfast era. Of course thats irrelevant now, and Oakland is pretty much outclassed up and down the lineup…but a man can dream, cant he?

If we have any chance, hopefully its Carr starting, and we have a heavy dose of Michael Bush and blitz the hell out of Carr…..but with Zombie Al calling plays to the bench, expect 20 carries for Fargas and 2 man deep all day.

smoke dank, not crank.

Well we know the Raiders aren't going to blitz the hell out of Carr

because you know that would mean trying something new and the Raiders can never do that. No instead they’ll stick with their 1968 era defense and the Giants will never have to worry about seeing something new or surprising.

ya. because that has

NEVER worked, right? oh wait.

Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!

Im sick and tired of this negativity

I know the Raiders are not very good right now, but every Sunday is a new Sunday and if you are not optomystic about the Raiders winning the game on Sunday than why in the world are you even posting comments on this site. The last thing this team need is negative bandwagon fans that dont know jack about football talking shit. The Raiders will win this Sunday they’re going to pound the ball down the Giants throats and DHB will have a breakout game no Im not saying DHB is going to be the best receiver of the week but he will have good numbers on Sunday call me crazy but after the game come back and talk all this negativity on how they got lucky! Are you enjoying your Kool-Aid raiderlalo81?

by the way what the heck does optomystic mean? I think anyone posting a bunch of optimistic garbage proves they don’t know anything about football.

This team has stunk for 7 years now so pardon me if I’ve spit out the Kool-Aid and have instead gotten ticked off.

But you know what if they win on Sunday I won’t be saying they got lucky I’ll be happy because I’m a Raider fan it’s just I’m one whose tired of the way they’re playing.

It's true, the performances can't get much worse, but somehow they have each week

But anything can happen in this league, and the ball just bounces the wrong way for any team on any given Sunday.

That being said, I believe Coughlin prepares the Gmen and we’re in for a heavy dose of Jacob and Bradshaw on one end. And Osi, Tuck, Umenyiora, and whoever else rotates in.

Good Point! Who is Edwards? Hell, who are Jacobs and/or Bradshaw for that matter? lol

Yeah, you caught me. I don’t know shit about the Giants! at least not enough to be trying to drop names. Thanks for the correction and thanks for the welcome.

Let’s win tomorrow!

Later!
