OK I'm sick of all the Russell hating posts
Last weak would have been J. Russ' best outing of the season. One of the big problems is... the RECEIVERS can't catch the ball!!!!! 9 times... yes you heard me, 9 times did his receivers drop the ball. I'm not disagreeing that before last weak, Jamarcus has been doing absolutely horrible!!! But without receivers who can catch, its obviously going to make him look bad. I even remember an instance where Louis Murphy dropped a ball that was literally right at his hands with no one within 5 feet of him. Again im not saying Russell is good but im saying that he won't even get close to good without receivers who can catch the ball.

First of all Tom Cable was the only one who thought there was 9 dropped passes
it was really more like 5-6. If you’re tired of all the JaMarcus Russell bashing why don’t you write a post that makes a good argument why we should lay off of him?
There is another post that shows some stats that have Russell comparing favorably to Eli Manning and while I don’t think there is a snowball’s chance that JaMarcus Russell will be as good as Eli Manning at least it shows that Russell could improve like Manning did.

Russell also won't get better
if he doesn’t actually care to try.

how do you know this though?
the nfl is filled with leaders that don’t have to make a spectacle of themselves to gain the belief from the fans.

because if he tried to work on his flaws
he wouldn’t have regressed. He actually should be quite a bit more improved over last year, instead he’s far worse than he ever was last year in my opinion.

Russell
You think you are tired of reading all the negative Russell stuff? Try driving eight hours to get to a game, paying someone way too much money to take your place at work, and sitting in the stands listening to a good portion of the crowd chant “Russell Sucks!” Or start booing when he does decide to call an audible. What a great way to spend your money and a great bunch of fans! Glad to be part of the Raider Nation right now!

Wow I cant believe this shit
Than I suggest to stop attending Raiders games cause your in for a long season. The Raiders have a young offense and the only way of getting better is by playing together right now. Lets stop comparing Russell to other QB’s not all the QB’s can come into the NFL and post great stats. You all have to understand that it takes great coaching and alot of practice to become a great QB lets not call Russell a bust yet and support him. Im pretty sure that if he was not selected by the Raiders another team would have picked him up and maybe he would still be learning a playbook and holding the clipboard on the sideline. What good is it for the Raiders to bench him and start Gradkowski? we are still very weak in the O-Line and most likely he will fail as well. Lets just go to the Raiders games and enjoy watching a young football team get better as the season goes along lets understand that we are not going to win this season but our young team is going to get better for the next couple of seasons. If you’re a true Raiders fan than lets show support and lets be possitive and we might pull and upset this Sunday and stun the New York Giants!! l
Lets go RRRRRAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIDDDDDDDEEEEERRSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not a question
as to whether 6 balls or 9 balls were dropped it is that when receivers consistently drop passes and never catch any difficult throws then in both cases lack of confidence creeps in. Where is Russell going to go to complete a pass? Bey? Murphy? Hell, neither has shown any ability to consistently catch the pass. So, Russell throws to Miller into double and triple coverage, or throws little outs to the backs where Lawton always drops it.
The two major injuries that are devastating to the Raiders this year is to Schilens and Nick Miller. Russell had developed a chemistry with Schilens last season, and Miller looked like a real threat on special teams where the Raiders who were great last year are basically awful this year.

Finally, someone knows!!! With Schillens and Miller in the lineup, Raiders would be sniffing
a Division Title at 4-0 and JMark would be in the running for MVP!!! Cable, Bumbaya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for once I actually have to agree with Bacon's sarcasm
If Russell isn’t going to try to improve, then it doesn’t matter who gets back into the lineup. He could have Anquan Boldin at receiver and still have a horrible completion percentage. Why? Because he’s too damn inaccurate and wouldn’t take the time to work with Boldin on their timing.
It just doesn’t matter what we do, if he doesn’t care then why should the front office be caring. Since there’s no cap next year, just release him, take the signing bonus penalty since there’s no cap, and draft McCoy.

Not sure about Miller
But Chaz going down killed the O without a question the lack of a WR to keep 8 out of the box hurts.
With that said accuracy is important and as JR says its hard to tell who’s fault it is remember the QB throws to a spot its the receivers that need to be there at the right time, and up to the QB to decide were and when to throw. So who knows if the WR ran the right route or the Qb just missed the target.
So both arguements hold water

MAYBE, just MAYBE...
…if the WR’s had the ball NORMALLY where it shoudl be, and not all over the place, or no place at all, would they drop so many.
In my opinion they dropped them out of sheer shock and surprise that the ball was anywhere near them.
Raidah Fan, you need to write, call, email, petition, protest in the streets: GET JokeMarcus Russell out of the #1 QB spot. GRadkowski runs the offense better. He WANTS to be the starting QB. I’m not so sure JokeMarcus does.
Your ONLY chance to win any games this year is to insert GRadkowski immediately, or trade for a legitimateNFL quarterback.
