Around SBN: VIDEO: Austin Rivers' Buzzer Beater Finishes Off UNC

Is Our Cable Going to be Cut Off?

Outside the lines video. The interviewees allege that Randy Hanson may not be the only victim of Raider's Coach Tom Cable's actions. This story has not gone away. Tom Calbe has karma coming back to bite him. These are questions that still haven't been answered.

There is now more evidence that Tom Calbe's judgement is in question. His leadership has not been as stellar as we would have hoped. The Raiders and Jamarcus Russell need the best leadership and judgement available especially with their young team but instead may be received mediocre leadership from the coaching staff.

Man, please with this.

This is another reason why I Hate ESPN and Associated Press.

1) THIS HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH HIS HIRING, AND THE INCIDENT WITH RANDY HANSON.

Nothing at all.

2) Look How long ago that is.

Man, he paid his price and others, this was old business.

3) The charges have been DROPPED,

Because Hanson’s story didn’t matched up.

Now, if Hanson’s story didn’t match up, and charges have been dropped, then why take event that happened in the Past now, the Past, and bring them up AFTER the charges are dropped.

You mean to tell me that people can get in trouble for situation that don’t involve them? This whole Outside The Lines report is BULLSHIT. Just another way to smear the Raider Name. I’d sue for Defamation, because this is something that don’t Involve the NFL, at ALL. So you wanna fire Cable because he Allegedly hit a defensive coach (which he has not been charged for, and the story doesn’t match up, AND the other coaches in the room’s story matched with Cable’s?

Give him an extension, because he wasn’t even proven to do anything for his Personal Information to be told to the Public.

Situation with Hanson

I think it’s similar. He is accused of hitting women and has even admitted to hitting his wife of 20 years ago. Obviously it’s not entirely related, but it’s similar if you ask me. I don’t disagree with ESPN doing a story about Tom Cable’s past incidents.

Okay, similar.

But look at what you said there.

wife of TWENTY years ago.

No need to be bringing this shit up now. My point is, We don’t even know if he really Hit Hanson or not.

And,

What does these past events have to do with anything in the NFL? That’s the past..I would understand if it was 2-5 years.

But it’s longer than that.

Ever do anything stupid?

Do you continue to make the same mistakes? First, we don’t know anything about his accuser’s motivations for speaking about this. Second, we don’t know exactly what happened. Third, you’re willing to assume he did and still does get physically abusive. If this is true, where are the rest of the examples that we’d see from the past 20 years?

by Rusty23 on Nov 4, 2009 7:30 AM PST up reply actions

Girlfriend claims last episode happen earlier this year?

The similarity is in the recent alleged violence, as early as this year?

Cable’s alleged violent actions could not have been predicted. Regardless, anyone who acts violently in a media scrutinized job is only going to face trouble.

by Sbay on Nov 1, 2009 9:38 PM PST up reply actions

This don't make no sense though.

Let’s see why:

Y’all know what happened with Marvin Harrison, right?

Why doesn’t no one mention that?

by NFLanalyzerfromhome on Nov 1, 2009 9:40 PM PST up reply actions

Harrison

That’s one isolated incident. Compare that to his playing career, it doesn’t add up.

It’s different with Cable based on past incidents and what has supposedly happened recently.

The Ultimate Opportunist

by Rated-R Superstar on Nov 1, 2009 9:41 PM PST up reply actions

Please.

It isn’t isolated; more happened behind the scenes.

Especially to the dude that went to the Police about that incident.

by NFLanalyzerfromhome on Nov 1, 2009 9:42 PM PST up reply actions

Whatever

There’s no need to take shots at Harrison because Cable is getting grilled by the media right now. They investigated into Cable’s past and found something. If they had investigated into Harrison’s past, they probably wouldn’t have found anything or they tried to investigate and did find nothing.

by Rated-R Superstar on Nov 1, 2009 9:49 PM PST up reply actions

I'm not even trying to take shots at Harrison.

I like Harrison, first of all.

My thing is, there’s no reason for this. That’s it.

Ex-girlfriend's claim?

Where are the charges? Without proof, you simply believe the accuser? Alleged means aleged. Look at accusers motivations please.

Misleading Title

By the way you’ve worded the title, you led me to believe that Cable was fired or that he resigned.

Blood in the water

I’ve never been a big fan of Tom Cable do to the fact that I don’t think he’s qualified to be a Division I college head coach let alone an NFL head coach.

This story of Cable and his anger issues isn’t going to go away and the fact that the offense has been beyond awful means Tom probably shouldn’t put a down payment on a Bay Area home.

That being said I wouldn’t fire him right now as I don’t see the point. The season is lost and who would replace him? Paul Hackett? John Marshall? Eddie Erdelatz?

Barring some sort of miracle turn around Cable will be gone in the off-season and the cycle will begin anew.

this was a pretty low blow by ESPN.

I saw this on Sportscenter last night. The only incident that he did admit to happened 20 years ago or more.
Lets not forget theres 2 sides to every coin and 3 sides of every story.
His side———————————————————the truth———————————————————her side
I have had problems in the past with my sons mom. Not exactly like this. When we split my son was 13 months old. She was hurt pretty bad that I didn’t want to be with here anymore and that I was breaking up our family. I knew we couldn’t work out our differences. The only way she could punish me for leaving her was to keep my son away from me. Of course this would upset any man to have anyone keep their child away from him. We had plenty of arguements over the phone about me picking him up and bringing him home. we filed for divorce right away with a custody trial 3 months later. One month before the trial, she filed for a restraining order and it was granted. She claimed that I would go to her work and harrass her. That I would send girls to her house threatening her and her sister’s. She was afraid of me and what I might do. Some real victim type of shit.
Of course when we got to trial she had no evidence of any of this, because none of it happened. So of course it was dropped and didn’t affect custody of my son which we were granted 50-50 custody and visitation.
She tried the same thing 2 years ago when we had to go back to court to reassess child support. This time it wasn’t granted.
So if you were to go dig deep, actually not that deep, you would find a family court file with one restraining order granted and another filed for but not granted. If you were to put her in front of a camera and ask about me and such knowing that she could smear my name, you better believe she would have some bad shit to try to say about me.
But it would all be untrue.
Tom Cable’s 2nd wife and current girlfriend both said he has not had any kind of violent history with them.
Not very much of the story was made to highlight that.
I don’t condone hitting woman in any fashion. The only thing I might add to this though is that he would have been 24 or 25 at the time of the admitted incident. I now some guys can still be at a bit of a knuckle head stage in there life then and do some regretable things. But to say he would still be that exact person. Hell I’m a different man now at 30 than I was at 25.
So like Sirbed said, this is blood in the water and the sharks will attack.

So true what you just wrote

Just because an ex-wife, or ex-girlfriend said something happened does not make it true. This idea that women are sweet loving creatures who would never lie is a fantasy by some naive people. No body is more vindictive than a woman scorned. A lot of things have been said about me by former girlfriends and in one case an ex-wife, none of it was true, but I was pillaged for some time until the true facts came out. I feel for Cable, and for damn sure I don’t want anybody bringing up things that happened to me or some things I did when I was in my 20’s.

by Laoren on Nov 2, 2009 9:22 AM PST up reply actions

This treatment of Tom Cable is disgusting.

Every time I have heard from Cable even if at times i have disagreed football wise he has always come across as a decent hard working guy. They reported they Hanson incident as if Cable was guilty for months and when the charges were dropped and that was barely a side note and now they have specifically investigated claims of a minor incident 20 YEARS AGO!!!! and his recent girlfriend is he say she say and no charges laid. Cable has had enough integrity to admit his first indiscretion and explain himself in a situation where many including myself would have told everyone to MIND THEIR DAMN BUSINESS.

How many people currently working in the NFL universe have had domestic battery charges laid against them because I seem to remember hearing about it quite regularly these guys are tough, aggressive guys including the coaches and we expect them to kill on the field and then be placid people in the real world. I dont condone any violence against women but ive also heard many bullshit cases where some slight pushing or grabbing of an arm a little too hard results in an assault charge.

And who knows the circumstances Cable may have just found out she was banging his best friend.

ESPN and the MSM in general have been perpetrating this shit all year and then lapping it up when the team does badly.

"Mel Kiper has his opinion and I respect it. But what does it mean? My 9-year-old nephew can watch film and make an opinion. I think I value the opinion of scouts who get paid to make their opinions. It will carry me through my career. It will serve as motivation for me." - Mike Mitchell

ESPN lost respect

with this yellow journalsm. This is clearly ESPN’s effort to boost ratings by appealing to the pop-culture / PC crowd.
