Catching Up With the Raiders: Some Raider Trivia

Today, I decided to re-open an old idea, which is to have a trivia segment where you can answer the question, off the top of your head (No Google-Cheating), and then get the answers the next day.

1) Which team loaned the Raiders 400k in order to continue playing football? What was the owner's name?

2) What is the Current Value of the team?

3) Who is the Raider Fanchise Leader in Tackles? Sacks?

4) Who played the most seasons in an Oakland Raider Uniform?

5) How many Raiders have won the NFL MVP while playing for the organization? Names?

Why does the Jeopardy theme play in my head when thinking?

1. Lamar Hunt… the hated Chiefs. I am not sure of this other than I know it was from a rival.
2. 650 million
3. tackles… I say JaMarcus Russell or Ted Hendricks. Sacks I am going with Greg Townsend
4. Ray Guy
5. Rich Gannon, Kenny Stabler, Daryl Lamonica and George Blanda

These are tough questions. Very tough!

The only one I would even guess at is number five.
Gannon, Marcus Allen, Jim Plunket, Stabler, (could be more, not sure…probably before Stabler)

I’m only going to try on a few.

3. How about Greg Biekert for tackles, and an off the wall answer for sacks….Derrick Burgess. No clue really.

4. Ray Guy or Tim Brown.

5. Rich Gannon for sure. Marcus Allen maybe, and one of the QBs….Plunkett or Stabler, maybe Lamonica.

Had enough Raider Nation?

Someone started a website called “messagetoal.com” It’s a petition that asks for 1: Davis’s resignation .2: Davis sells the team 3: Davis hires a GM and the list goes on. When I signed on tues night there were 2700 people that had “signed” the petition, the goal is 50,000. I’m skeptical , but as a 42 year fan ANYTHING is worth a try. If you like it pass it on! It’s sad that trivia is all we have with this team,let’s get back to where we should be! R.F.F.L.

Nah, running backs we have, I was surprised that Chris Chambers didn’t get any attention, oh , that’s right, he’s a veteren. We only start Rookies on our club. They meld better with JA3andout Russell. The stats don’t lie,ever. When you bench a guy that could possibly help your club because he’s in your “dog house” (Javon Walker) you tell your fans and players that you don’t give a damn about them or winning as long as you make your point to the player. Could he have an impact? We will never know because he’s in the “Davis doghouse”. “Just Win Baby” used to mean anything it takes, including putting personal differences aside for the sake of the TEAM,FANS and PLAYERS in order to WIN. On the other hand we are starting a “Quarterback” (term used loosely) that should have been benched weeks ago, so that takes care of mantra # 2 “committment to excellence”.
