Greetings from CincyJungle!
Hello, Raider Nation!
I'm Craig (A Pragmatic Bengals Fan), Site Editor and one of the bloggers over at CincyJungle.com, the SB Nation Bengals community. We've been sharing FanPosts with our opponents' blogs this season and so far it's been a very enjoyable experience. If you have any questions or comments in anticipation of Sunday's game in your backyard, post them here in the comments section! Myself and our other members will try to come around and answer any questions you have and we may have some of our own. We'll do our best to keep it civil (and those of us on staff will ensure nobody gets out of line), but bear in mind we're pretty excited throughout Bengaldom this year. It's been a long time since it's felt this good to be a Bengals fan, you know? :)
Nice to meet you all, and I look forward to a healthy exchange as we discuss Sunday's upcoming battle and I hope our boys log their first ever win (0-9 lifetime) in Oakland!
Sincerely,
A Pragmatic Bengals Fan

Well...
Seeing your coming off a monster win, and were coming off a rather dissapointing loss. I can man up and say, Cinncinatti will most likely win. Im glad to see that you guys are succesfull. I was semi-rooting for you after watching Hard Knocks

Thanks, Remix!
I was a bit unsure about Hard Knocks when it was announced. Now I want them to film the series in Cincinnati every summer. :)
Bear in mind the 0-9 record we currently sport in Oakland and the fact that this is absolutely a game they should win judging by the way the two teams are playing though, and you just never know.
I don’t see the Bengals losing this weekend either (of course I don’t, I’m the type of fan that thinks they should go 19-0 every year), but stranger things have happened.

You could call the Bengals front office
and try to convince them to forfeit. That’d be great :)
But seriously Cinci’s D is ranked 10th. I’m not seeing a win here no matter who our QB is unless Cincinnati does what Philly did and come in thinking we’re a push over and blow it.

You all seem like a decent bunch of guys, but I'm not willing to go that far for an olive branch. ;)
Seriously though, in years past I would have worried about a letdown. I don’t think this year’s team is going to let that be an issue. This is the most focused and mature Bengals team I recall in an easy fifteen years.

Any idea on sellout?
I’m a Bengal fan in the Bay Area so just wondering if anyone had heard whether or not this game would be on TV locally?
by swebbIL on Nov 18, 2009 11:20 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
There is NO way they will get a sellout. I really have a lot of respect for Cincy and am actually afraid of how bad they could make the Raiders look.

i hadn’t been paying attention to whether any of the OAK games were sold out so I wasn’t sure. So is there is no sports bar or anything that can broadcast the game locally?
by swebbIL on Nov 18, 2009 1:08 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Nope-blackouts cover the entire area;
I believe up to 150 miles. I also think it applies to Dish and DirecTV-including their NFL package. The NFL is a powerfull monster.

Blackout Restrictions
It’s a 75-mile radius and the games are usually blacked out on NFL Sunday Ticket; however, the first two games weren’t blacked out there, but the last two have been.

Bar
I can’t get into one on the account of I’m only 17 years old.

haha..
I can get into bars and Im 16. But its a small town and I look rather old. And these kind of bars cant afford TV’s..I listen to the Radio and use NFL Gamecast. Its a real bummer to not watch the team. Ecspecially when its Bruces’ first game.

No Fear
The Raiders rise to the tough opponents – this won’t be a blow-out. Moreover, Cable is finally fighting the, so called, Gruden curse, i.e. the coach must lead or be damned.

Bengals fans
can relate to whats goin on in Oakland. No clear path with an idiot for an owner. The difference is atleast Cinci is in the right direction now. The raiders just keep gettin worse.
Its like we r the bengals of the akili smith era but WORSE cuz our qb is healthy and wont be benched lol.

lol @ the Akili/JaMarcus comparison!
Well, we’ll at least say we’re CURRENTLY heading in the right direction, RIGHT NOW. A tiny little part of me wonders if signing Larry Johnson isn’t tempting the hand of fate just a wee bit too much, but I think that the leadership in the locker room will prevail to carry us as far as we’ll go this season. I just wonder how long it will take before the bottom falls out, and if that window will be open long enough for us to win a ring this year or next. The talent, heart and determination are all there this year in a much bigger way than the perfect storm that was 2005.
So yeah…we feel ya. lol

Who's idea was it to sign Johnson?
Do you think it was (I can’t remember his first name) Brown’s idea to sign Johnson? Or was it Marvin Lewis? I agree, it’s tempting fate. On the other hand, Johnson might be on his best behavior so that he can land a good job next year.
I’m a fan of other fans more than a fan of other teams. You guys have put up with some real shit. I wish you guys the best. It gives us hope. Even if your current success doesn’t last long, at least you get to enjoy it. I hope you keep it up and get a first round bye. Go deep in they playoffs and give fans across the country something to hope for.

I think that's the case re: Johnson being on his best behavior.
Florio and a couple of others are trying to showcase problems between him and Benson that aren’t there (at least yet), but that’s what a lot of sites do to get traffic. Our head coach and offensive coordinator have made it quite clear that if Benson can go, LJ is inactive. I think it’s pretty clear in that locker room what the collective statuses of Cedric Benson and Larry Johnson are going to be.
Honestly, I think it was Marvin’s idea to bring him in. From what we’ve read and heard Marvin was on the horn with him last week after he was released and knows his family. Which should also help him to keep LJ focused and on his best behavior.
Thanks for the good wishes, definitely. We’ve waited a very long time for a season like this. 2005 was a cruel tease and that team wasn’t built for January football. This team is, with a top defense and a top running game. :)

By the way, Bruce Gradkowski is 1-0 lifetime against us.
I’ll never forget the “roughing the passer” call in that Mike Carey called in 2006 at Tampa Bay. We ended up losing that game, in which a win would have rendered the 3 choked games at the end of the season moot and we would have been in the playoffs.
One of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. Ever.

You know, the more I think about it we may have. Don't know if it was 65, but it was far out of Shayne's Sunday range.

I didn’t understand it then and don’t now.

Chad Ochocinco
You guys aren’t the only “Bengals people” speaking out about the Raiders and what not. Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Chad Ochocinco discussed some topics today.
Here’s a snippet of the interview. This was only one topic, mind you.
Q: Are you sending the Raiders any gifts this week?
Ochocinco: No, no, no, I can’t pay for shipping and handling. That’s too damn far.
Q: What are your thoughts about going up against Asomugha?
Ochocinco: It’s going to be fun. It was fun the last time I went against him, it’s going to be fun this time I go against him. I can’t wait.
Q: Did you play against his team when you were at Oregon State?
Ochocinco: I can’t remember. All I remember is playing against him when we played Oakland the last time he was here, when Fabian was on the other side. That was fun. I enjoyed it.
