So I am watching the 49ers game, not because I care but because there is nothing else on....
Watching the Titans and Vince Young it makes me wonder why we do not do something similar as they did last year. They sat Young the entire year, started a veteran QB and had a succesful season. I do not understand what there is to lose by doing this for the Raiders. Obviously JR is not learning and not making much improvement with the on the job training. I really think that this is what we should have done this year and we had the opportunitty to do it, with Jeff Garcia. I don’t really care that maybe he didn’t look great during camp or the preseason, there is really very little chance that he would have done worse or had us in a worse situation than we are currently in.
Now, none of us know whether or not JR will ever be a quality QB in the NFL, but we all know that right now he is not qualified to be a starter in this league. I heard an interview with him the other day and I could not understand one thing he said, and I’m not even joking. It made him look very unintelligent, after hearing that I can understand why he is not improving. Maybe that is inaccurate but if he cant even communicate in english then what can we expect. I lived in the south, so at first I was thinking maybe it is just a LA accent, but after listening for a minute that was no accent that I have ever heard in the south, it seemed like he was just mumbling.
Another thing that really makes me mad about watching this Niner game, is that I am actually able to watch it. The 49ers are really not much better than the Raiders, the Titans have been terrible this season. How in the hell did the 49ers sell out this game? I see stuff like this and it really has me worried about the future of the Raider’s in Oakland. The last Raider’s game we had a crowd of about 40,000, this is about 28,0000 seats short of a sell out. Our fan base seems to be eroding and it doesnt seem that anything is being done about it. We will not have another home game televised this season which in my books is a real problem. I have season tix so I will see the games, but it is not a good sign that all we will hear about on radio and in the news is how the Raider’s can’t sell out.

Question
How do you know the game is sold out?

Because it is being televised, and watching it on TV I don't see empty seats...
If the game wasnt sold out they would not be able to televise it in the Bay Area…

Yes, you are correct...
Although I am not from here, but I am from the Bay Area, Fairfield to be exact…however i went to Fresno State and most of my family lives in Fresno so I still go there 4-5 times a month….. Hey how did your H.S. Football team do on Friday..I follow H.S. football pretty closely but not in your area so much, at least not until the Sac Joaquin Section playoffs begin…My old H.S. just secured a playoff berth on Friday…

High School Football
We, Enochs, beat Davis by a 20-10 score at Modesto Junior College. We’re undefeated at 4-0. Modesto High clobbered Downey, 68-22, to also remain undefeated. We’re playing Modesto High this Friday night. The winner wins the MMC title and the loser doesn’t; however, the loser still goes to the playoffs. The MMC champion plays Lincoln and the team that finishes in second plays St. Mary’s. Both of those high schools are from Stockton.

Cool....
yeah I am very familiar with those schools as we used to play Lincoln and or Downey every year in the preseason and we played St Marys a couple of times in the playoffs…I’m looking forward to the playoffs this year as my HS, Fairfield, has a good team..as long as we dont have to play Elk Grove or Grant we should be in good shape. Your school wasn’t around when I was in school so I am not too familiar with them but that is a tough league with Downey and Modesto and isn’t Grace Davis in that league as well, they used to be a powerhouse many years ago, I dont know about now though…..

Yeah
The Modesto Metro Conference (MMC) consists of five schools: Modesto, Downey, Davis, Beyer and Enochs. Next year, they’re adding a new school to the mix; however, I don’t expect them to have a varsity team until the year after that because when our school first opened, we only had freshmen and sophomores.

Right
That’s because they were pretty disappointing this season. Johansen was the preseason favorite, I believe. We killed them, Modesto killed them and then they barely beat Beyer who was the worst team in the conference.

Chargers-Giants
The Giants, after an interception, could only make it a six-point game with a field goal. They failed to get a touchdown.
The Chargers went about 80 yards in just over 90 seconds to win the game, 21-20, on Vincent Jackson’s second touchdown reception of the game. Man, that guy is one of the best players in the league.

Starting Quarterbacks
When Vince Young starts, the Titans are 19-11. When Alex Smith starts, the 49ers are 0-6.

Correction
I think San Francisco is 11-19 when Alex Smith starts, actually, which would be the exact opposite of Tennessee’s mark with Vince Young behind center.

josh freeman did pretty well with the bucs against green bay.

Freeman
He was only 14-for-31, but he tossed three touchdowns. The Buccaneers did have some fluky points, I guess you could say. Freeman didn’t lead the drive on three of their touchdowns. One was a defensive score, one was a special teams touchdown and one was an eight-yard drive.

yeah
but he was a surprise to me. he scored points when needed, and, at least i don’t think, didn’t turn the ball over.
