Gradkowski must assume Coaching Duties immediately
This team has talent that is not being used properly. We have seen incontrovertable proof of that in Dallas and yesterday against Washington. Bruce cannot play Quarterback but he can still lead the team as its Head Coach. Gradkowski has the respect and confidence of the players and Al. He will galvanize them into a unit and lead them in an unprecedented way to victories in the next 3 games. The idea seems incredible but will definitely work. Bruce knows the offense and what plays will work; he is a student of the game and intimately familiar with the personnel - their potentials and shortcomings. I can think of no one better at this time to step in and make this a successful season - not by conventional assessment but - by showing what we in Oakland have had all the time - a team of great athletes who have been hampered by imbecilic management. Let Bruce Gradkowski continue to lead our team to victory from the sideline as Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders. Down with Cable and then Down with Denver! and the others who will fall to the Silver and Black!

Whoa !!!
That would be really crazy he is good but not that good to be able to coach there is much much more things he will need to master like Special Teams but it’s beyond me

Your hatred of cable has no bounds does it blanda?
Usually at least if u don’t agree with u your opinion is at least well thought out but this us just insane.

Ever heard of Tom Flores?
He played Quarterback and then coached (the Raiders to two Super Bowls). Many Quarterbacks are well suited and prepared to HC. Anyway, Bruce’s injury takes him out of play but we can still use his leadership abilities and knowledge of the offense and the players as their new Coach – if only for the remainder of the season.
There is nothing insane about this idea. But some will call it crazy only because it is audacious in comparison to their conventional bourgeois way of thinking.

You do know Flores was an assistant coach for several years right?

It's been said that all Al Davis' Head Coaches are Assistant Coaches

Well then I guess he was an assistant for years
before he became the Head (assistant) Head Coach.

Bruce's duties would be narrowed to calling the offensive plays
and putting together a strategy. This guy knows how the game is played. Cable is a farmer who hauls vegetables to market while his family trembles lest he be taken in again whereas Bruce is Jack Bauer in the field improvising innovating reacting as he goes. This would be historic if Al would only listen to my words.

There's no proof
Al has respect for him. He’s just winning more games and performing better than Russell is. Al’s not completely insane. If it’s working why wouldn’t he allow Bruce to stay in the position when he was healthy? And if we’re still playing Russell against Denver, not even Gradkowski can fix him if he doesn’t think he needs to be fixed. Can’t help those that don’t want it.

Winning wins Al's heart; John Madden put it this way, "Winning is a great deodorant."
If Gradkowski is made coach, he would probably keep JMR on the bench or near him on the sidelines. Gradkowski would have the opportunity to call in plays that fit the situation and he would use the players far more effectively than the Oaf.
Do you have any idea what Brandon Marshall will do to us, publicly, if we continue on our present course? This move would show the league again that Al is the most innovative and unconventional mind in the game.

And if it fails
it would be more bad publicity and prove Al is truly insane.

Shame on those who have given up hope of winning any more this season
for there are those who would justify rolling over for the unworthy purpose of a higher place in the draft. This is a defeatist and lackey attitude.
Even more shameful when we have the viable option of having Bruce Gradkowski as HC – and finishing the more bitter than sweet season with an exciting flourish. With Grad involved we would stand a better chance of pulling victory from the jaws of certain defeat.

There's no proof
he could be a good head coach or that he would make us win the next 3 games. It’s a risk that could just simply ridicule the Raiders even more and definitely not put Gradkowski back in the line up next year, plus maybe ruin his image forever. Instead of the QB that could, he could be the QB-turn-HC that couldn’t and no one would take him seriously enough to sign him again and def not as a coach when he’s done playing the game.

Risk assessment
With Cable we lose at Denver and at home v Baltimore – this isn’t defeatist pessimism it’s objective assessment. And even Cleveland would be a major effort – look what they did to Pittsburgh in the Dogpound. Yes, putting Bruce at HC would draw worldwide notice but the team would come together under Grad as they have always done. I have lost all confidence in Cable but have confidence in reserve for Gradkowski who knows football and knows how to win.

They may come together
and I don’t really see any real sign they don’t follow Cable, but that doesn’t make him a good head coach or mean he has what it takes to be a head coach for the organization. There’s just not enough to proof to say him as our coach we would win the next 3 games either. The risk assessment doesn’t give a low enough result for the chance to be taken. Given the current coaching set up, I don’t think any coach could succeed, let alone someone that hasn’t ever coached in college or professionally.

Do you think Gradkowski would be better a better offensive play caller than Cable?

I don't have a opinion
because I’ve never seen him call every play of a game. So I stand by my argument that the risk is too high to risk put him in that position.

Cable is considering starting Bruce on Sunday even with cartilege hanging out of two knees
Cable knows that If Bruce is on the field he won’t be able to coach. Add sly and ruthless to this shameless coach’s resume.
