Big Jam,,, I love him and hate him. But hate the broncos more!!!
As bad as Russel always is, ,the guy for some reason makes good plays during a comeback. Ive seen him comeback and throw a t.d. to take the lead in 3 games now (over the span of 2 yrs).. He's just god awful for 3 qtrs and 10 minutes in games. but give him the ball with 2 min left and a chance to win, boy the guy delivers. I hate him and love em! LoL luv this one today!! I thought when he got the ball,, heres your chance again big guy,, this is the only thing you've been good at "doing the come from behind". gonna miss him next year, when we have to cut him, but thanx for some fun comebacks. The one thing Ive always hated more than russel, is the Broncos!!!
Oh yeah,,, Run Michael Bush Run!!!!! haha I thought he'd show the world how good he is.

This will just give the Russell lovers
false hope and a chance to say “I told you so” until the next time he crashes and burns. I’ll take the victory and hope it really means he’s turning the corner. But beware of false hope.

I'm with you on both counts.
Got to be fair. Today, he helped gain a victory. Good for him and us!

I hope
JaMarcus see’s success somewhere, just not in Oakland..It looks like he wants to win, but just cant. He has a future as a back up..Thats it..Anyone know the status of Bruce? He looked healthy on the sidelines

The main reason we won this game
Our running backs were properly utilized.

I totally agree
Not really the proper use of them, but the use of Bush

I have to agree, every one who has said we should us Bush more often
seems to be justified by today’s performance 100%. Statistically he’s been the leader all along too. I’ve argued stats can be misleading, and stand by it to an extent. Bush’s success today can be belied by the unpredictability of who this team will start or even give the majority of carries or catch opportunities to, so arguably, they have used the three headed attack effectively considering the pass game has been mostly nonexistent.
The O line was solid today, too. Always the unsung heroes of victories, the guys held up their end of the deal. Dumerville is a force to be reckoned with.

The defense is the heart of this team, you're all forgetting that
the running backs and contribution from the offense has been, thus far, a luxury. Run team has actually been excellent at times, but needed help from an inept passing offense for most of the season, with just flashes of what they should have been doing, with the help of a competent qb.
The D just shows how good they can be when they get some help from the other teams. Hats off to Jamarcus for a change. I still fucking hate him with a serious passion. I expected a little more heart from Mr. Frye today too. It’s not like he can count on opportunities to play…
It’s all about giving your guys hope that the next play will be the difference. Russell proved able to do that, for a change.

The Offense is the Defense best friend
Dont know if you noticed. When Bush was put in the game after the first 2 drives ended up empty. We scored on 3 straight drives and Bush was a part of all of those. By giving our defense a little rest and momentum, it inspires guys. Bush opened up the playaction pass too. The longer the offensive drives the more our defense can rest and get stronger.

Tip
It makes you seem less smart when writing in all capitials..You seem semi knowledgable and when you write like that, i lose respect for your opinion, But, I know what you mean how the life gets sucked out of the team..I am really hoping that Bruce is ok to play next week

What the F*@K is with all the JaMarcus love in the media about his performance today
Yes he lead the game winning drive but he also tried pretty hard to throw it away as well with the fumble the sacks, poor throws etc. He didnt looking comfortable or look what I would call ‘Good’ at all, he made some plays and he deserves all the credit for getting a good result but i think the receivers carried him which in a way is fantastic to see but im still very happy that he will not be starting next week.
I think Bruce should get an opportunity to compete for the starting job next year and I would love nothing more than to see him succeed but a plan B is essential and it is not JaMarcus Russell!
"Mel Kiper has his opinion and I respect it. But what does it mean? My 9-year-old nephew can watch film and make an opinion. I think I value the opinion of scouts who get paid to make their opinions. It will carry me through my career. It will serve as motivation for me." - Mike Mitchell

That's because...
“Jamarcus is a great player. Get over it!”
Seriously though, I think like Oz said above, Jamarcus didn’t really look that good and Kooky as Al is, he can still see the product on the field… I hope.

the media’s hype is unwittingly helping Al. For that, I’m grateful to the hacks.

I’d be fine w/ releasing him. but If we can trade him better yet.

Maybe the Bears will take him?
Apparently, they don’t watch AFC West Quarterbacks too closely! Now that’s a fiasco!

Doesn't the size of his contract make the trade highly unlikely?
Without the agreement to reduce his contract?
He still thinks he’s good, and that he deserves all that jack.
by brhynno on Dec 21, 2009 1:57 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
The contract could be structured such that whatever portion the Bears pay
is subtracted away from what we owe. So we would get something out of it – like an empty bottle deposit.

Oh the drama!
The GM (AD) gets recognition for at least loading up the depth chart with Bruce, Charlie and now JP. Just thought I would mention the good moves our GM makes.
BTW, Seymour was getting doubled most of the game.

Starting Grad and the Frye we've won 3 out of 5
w/Grad healthy, Washington would have made 4 out of 5 wins by starting Al’s ‘supporting QBs’

DHB
Drafting DHB and starting him wasn’t a great idea. That’s a knock on both Al Davis and Cable, but they are probably trying to get some fast development from DHB so we’ll have to wait and see. DHB has been out as long as Russell.
I watched the replay of the Murphy Russell collision and it looks like a bump. Looking at Murphy’s head you can see that it wasn’t a big bump and it seems more like Russell gave it to Murphy and Murphy turned out of the way.
by Sbay on Dec 21, 2009 2:38 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
nice field forensics
Do you conclude that Murphy needs more practice with the bump dummy?

Does Anyone know why we won the game on Sunday???????
I shall give to my fellow Raider Nation knowledge on what I saw in Jamarcus.1.) He seemed fat as fuck more than usual. 2.) He now has a Mohawk. 3.) and most Importantly he moved his ass around the pocket which is what uhm let me think Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye dose too maybe that is why there are good QB’s in our system. J-Russ learned to not drop back 3 steps and be a statue he learned to me Mobile which the the Key to being successful as the QB of the Oakland Raiders..

yea real mobile with
the strip sack, the 3 qb hits, the 3 hits to his throwing arm while thinking our oline would give him 4 seconds when in reality 3 seconds is a vacation back there! oh and throwing all passes from his back foot his a good sign of being mobile… not! moving backwards in the pocket is not taught but stepping up…
by rodeosnake12 on Dec 21, 2009 9:42 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
Yeah
I said he started to be more Mobile if you watched the game he moved away from the pressure and I don’t mean moved as in 40 yards down the field and I don’t mean Learned as the 1st play he threw which he got sacked. Near the end of the game is where he started to move around. Throwing on your back foot and being Mobile have Absolutely nothing to do with each other. Moving backwards in the pocket is taught but at a reasonable amount not taking 30 yards of a back-step he can only step up when there is not pressure in his face so your are forced to throw on your back foot. I don’t know how you can say all his passes are from his back foot.
oh and throwing all passes from his back foot
I can guarantee you that the 2 biggest pass plays that Russell threw were not from his back foot I think you need to re-watch the game… Are you sure you didn’t accidentally watch the Broncos game from week 3????

I don't think
we have to worry about Al keeping J-bustAss. Granted he took a TINY step foreward, but overall I’m sure Al saw what happened to Home game attendance after No-hustle was pulled and another QB was in the game. And if Frye or Bruce starts for the last game and attendance stays up, not to mention another win or two, I’m sure Al will realize that it’s more $ in his pocket in attendance and by cutting him.
