What if the Denver game was actually played in Oakland???
what if the denver game was played in oakland???
same scenerio, frye goes down and russell to the rescue. with the media making russell some kind of "medal of honor winner" after his hideous drive, and shit house luck win, lets ask ourselves what if... this was played at home, and what would have ben the outcome. would or could russell of pulled the rabbit out off his ass? NOPE! the best thing about this game for russell was it was played in Denver. at home as soon as frye went down, and while russell struggled to even strap on his helmet, the BOOS would have greeted number 2, and de ja vu of the Skins game would have been witnessed. russell nor the team would have rose up when the crowd got after him. i was one of the boo birds and had reason to be, but look at this team, they are 3-4 on the road, soon to be 4-4 after we stomp cleveland, and only 2-5 at home. imagine what our home record could be if we had a qb in there we respected and he respected us as fans(Grad) and worked hard and had passion and love for the game! i mean for us to be this decent of a team on the road shows our potential to be a force in the NFL! this just shows that russell wont cut it as our qb because at first mistake in the colosium he is gonna be tarred and feathered and thus wont be able to rise up and answer the boos with a TD strike to gain us back, he just cant do it.

Are we quite done
beating this dead horse now? Should we have started Grad earlier or not? We don’t know. We’ll never know. Let’s move on now, the season is almost over and it’s time to look into the off season.
What if’s are meaningless and useless. We’ll never know, why debate it.

Booing Russell!
This article could be saying that it is the crowd at the HOME stadium, (us, I’ve done it too) that are stoping Russell and the team from a comback effort like the one at Denver. Think about it. Sure he hasn’t earned anyones repect but with the media and then fans at him with negative articles and then booing him, why wouldn’t he and the whole team fall flat ala Reskins Game.

For the money they're making
it’s their job to win. If they suck they’ll hear about it. They’re professional football players, they will be criticized by the media and fans. If my home fans were booing me I’d try my hardest to pick it up and prove them wrong.

sabp savy's the article, mikesd doesnt
this isnt a what ifs article, if bruce started, if frye started, its about the home crowd and how good we could possibly be as a home team with cheers instead of boos, but damn i love booing. its no coinsedence that we are a better road team than a home team. once upon a time oakland was a very hard place to come in and get a win for away teams, but not anymore.

so it's our job
the paying customers to worry about the players state of mind and encourage them even when they’re completely abysmal?
I don’t think so. If I can’t get to the game I watch it on TV and I pay for the cable as well as the ticket for the game so I have my choices. And if they’re not going to perform, I’ll boo or turn the channel. We’re not cheerleaders,. we’re paying customers.

if youve been at these games you know ive seen some ups and alot of downs but ive never bood my own team though i have been disgusted and left. the other teams and refs allday but not the raiders…….after saying that, i say jamarcus has had his chance to play without the boos the people wouldnt boo if it wasnt so ugly to watch him. time to find someone new.

now that we are on the same page, i can make my point. for those who believe russell will “get it” and be our leader i got news for you. real winners rise up and fuel off the BOOS and bust their ass( and like you said mike, prove them wrong) russell shows me he wont ever be that guy the way he sulks on the bench after a boo bath and does nothing to shut us up by succeding, he takes failure way to easy for me and i have discarded him!

Is there a rookie?
Comin in thats named JaMarcus Russell? Wow, what a coincidence
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Yes, that and more game balls from Cable may silence his critics

Russel continued.
To Rodeo and the completely justified others;
My reaction to seeing J.R in any game this year has been consistent_ OH SHIT!!!!!
I love Bruce and the adrenalin shot he has provided; the whole team PLAYS for him, I mean PLAYS, blocking and whatnot…..
But, I’ve seen the team just QUIT when Russel makes his appearance…
Justified? In a sense, yes, totally!
At the same time, they’re paid to win.
This team is a GOOD one, there’s real talent here..
Russel is obviously “delicate” psychologically , can’t take the Boos of Raider Nation,
yet this is what we got…
J.P Lossman? C’mon…………
I know it’s beating the dead horse, but, honestly, if Russel were to see the light, start working out at least a little, absorb team practice, etc could you imagine a better QB given his obvious physical tools??? He’d be SCARY in a good way.
by mofackey on Dec 22, 2009 10:49 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
agreed
but i think im the only person who laughs at russells supposed “physical tools” im sory i dont see it. i know he throws far and hard, but there is more to physical tools than that. physically hes the biggest ever to play the position,6’6 260 my ass, hes as tall as langston and romanowski has quoted his arrival camp weight at 300. hes built like a pear and the older he gets the harder its gonna be to stay in shape with his build, ive seen him in sweats out of pads and his is what i witnessed structure wise. to me favre has physical tools, all the way around. from arm strength to physic, this guys body at 40 looks like that of a 26 year old, he can sell he play action, throw over hand or sidearmed, scrammble, throw down blocks, and i can keep going. i just see alot of other qbs around that posess more “physical tools” than just a strong inaccurate arm, just my thoughts, not right or wrong.

I totally agree, yet,
well, I guess there’s not much argument I can offer.
JM is not, nor will he ever be, B Favre.
I still can’t help but think, given a little more time under an experienced wing(Garcia, perhaps),Jm
may have been one hell of a late bloomer.
I know the $ paid for this dude was unforgivable; but it’s a done deal(there should be rookie cap,
without a doubt). My only valid point is, he’s still young enough to wire his s**t tight. The abuse from both the press and RAIDER NATION should be catalyst enough to light a serious fire
under his ass,if he has any PRIDE at all. I say give him next year,as back up or alternate, then close the “Book of Russel”.
by mofackey on Dec 25, 2009 9:05 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
I say unload
him while we the damage won’t be against a cap and then if a collective agreement is agreed on the next year he won’ hurt us either way.

no matter
how much we boo russell or hate him, we cant do anything about it
its all in al’s hands, he could care less what we think, if HE believes russell can do it then russell stays.
