Redskins lead NFL in Red Zone Efficiency and Sacks by a DL
Red Zone Defense The Redskins lead the NFL in red zone efficiency, allowing opponents only eight touchdowns in 29 trips, a 27.6 percent clip. Last week vs. New Orleans, they stopped the Saints four times in the red zone, NO settled for field goals each time. Two weeks ago in Philadelphia, they stopped the Eagles three times in the red zone, Phili settling for 3 field goals. The Redskins’ defense also leads the NFL in fourth-down efficiency (the Raiders have done well in fourth-down efficiency too but on both sides of the ball)
- D-Line The Redskins’ starting defensive line of Phillip Daniels, Cornelius Griffin, Albert Haynesworth and Andre Carter has combined for 176.5 career sacks. The most of any current starting defensive line in the NFL. Albert Haynesworth’s 27 career sacks is tied for 10th among active defensive tackles. Carter leads the Redskins’ defensive line with nine sacks this season.
Most Dangerous: #99 Andre Carter nice guy off the field a beast on it; this DE must be mastered and brought to heel - or else.
Very Dangerous: #59 London Fletcher, Washington's MLB, 9+ tackles/ game average - disruptive player.
Very Dangerous #92 Albert Haynesworth, a two year all pro DT noted for his agility [but may not play - ankle]
Given these strengths of our next opponent, who do you believe will score the most points?

The Offensive Line will be tested and must have their best game of the season
Washington’s strength is their D-line. They will come for Grad like savages. They will come like Dallas came. Offensively, this is an opportunity to face Dallas again. This is a good opportunity to use DMF to get around them. Is Cable up to it? Will he roll up into a constipated pillbug? Or will Tom go forward boldly and show us he is our coach for the future? Stretch your mental loins, Tom. Give us two consecutive wins – not by being conservative (which is your tragic flaw) but by bold swashbuckling leadership.

Suh wins Bronko Nagurski Trophy
This gifted motivated awesome Defensive Tackle would, more than any single defensive player, bring us back to glory. Ndamukong Suh – prounounced En-dom-ah-ken Sue – say it slowly, say it deeply and soberly as a mantra. I hope to hear it blasted at the Coliseum someday just like AC/DC’s tolling bell which introduces our Defense’s signature battle theme.

We've been needing to draft a DT for years now,
and it still hasn’t happened. Tommy Kelly got a ridiculous contract extension when he didn’t deserve it and still hasn’t earned it. I say we switch to a 3-4 scheme with Richard Seymour as the NT and Scott and Ellis as the DE’s. We aren’t generating enough sacks with the 4-3 and we aren’t stopping the run either. I’m betting we draft a cornerback in the first round this year knowing Al Davis. Damn I wish we still had Charles Woodson.

The time to try the 3-4 is now or no later than Denver
we have to see how it works before draft day if we’re going to plan accordingly for 2010 season. But I don’t believe Seymour, Kelly or Warren are fit for Nose Guard. Suh or Cody would be amazing with our current roster.

Sebastian
He will have a field day, Im guessing 4 field goals. But, still an offensive TD or two. Michael Bush will have another good game. Im guessing around 105-110 Yds on the ground. On maybe 18 carries. Bruce will have 1 TD Pass and 1 Int. Only because he was rushed when he threw.
haha field day.
Sorry. I know you didn’t mean the pun there :)

Cable has the opportunity to replay the Dallas defense this weekend
He has a chance to exorcise those demons that must haunt his repose and steal his rightful joy in Sunday’s victory. Well, go to it Tom. Fire up your o-line, get Bruce 3-seconds, use your backs to block and throw to them, use some line traps and QB draws, screens to Zack, don’t run plays that keep failing, let Justin or Darren try a pass, get it to DMF where there’s room, blitz T.Scott and Branch.

I Elect
Sons-of-Blanda as HC.haha. Thats a nice little game plan. Like RRS said in the preview. We need to pound the ball with Justin and Bush. Then get Darren in space on tosses or swing passes.
Rain Saturday and Showers likely for Sunday - temperature approx 52
Fargas and Bush sustaining long time eating possessions tiring the redskin line – then, suddenly a deep one to Murphy – TD!

That Bush would have 18 carries. Did I miss something? He had a grand total of 1 carry against the Steelers.
Well...
For one, thank you for following my comments. Two, When Bush rushed for 120 against KC, he had 14 carries. The previous game, he had only 7 carries. I think Tom will give him his reps against a team with an abysmal Run D
There has been no proof of this
for some reason it seems Cable doesn’t like the guy.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Bush fumbles every 60 carries - seems low
over the same period, Fargas fumbles every 110 carries
…. and McFadden fumbles every 26 carries.

i think in mcfadden's case
it would be a small, inconclusive sample size considering he’s been hurt for much of the year.
Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!
He also possesses crazy, game-breaking potential
the way i see it is Bush can go on to be a great back. But Mcfadden can be a once in a generation type runner. I also think hes shown a lot more strength running the ball recently
Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!
When he runs into the defensive line
with a hole right next to him to run through? I don’t think he was necessary when we had Rhodes on the roster at the time.

I mentioned fumbles because it's something a coach might consider
it was suggested that Cable doesn’t like Bush. I was trying to find some reason why he might not like Michael. The stats don’t indicate that Bush’s fumbling would be an issue for Cable. But, fumbles might make Tom think twice about McFadden.

well after week 11
fumble Bush did get demoted for the Dallas game.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Fargas was on fire that first quarter in Dallas
and he is sure handed. But Bush’s 3 fumbles in 180 carries seems an acceptable risk. DMF, with 185 carries has 7 fumbles. This season, Darren has turned the ball over every other game he’s played (on average).

1 fumble after a 33 yard run and the first and only fumble MB's had in 83 carries this season
That would be unreasonably punitive of Timid Tom.

This season McFadden has carried 72 times and turned it over 3 times
Therefore, DMF turns it over every 24 times he carries.
Bush has carried 83 times and fumbled it away 1 time.
Fargas has carried 117 time and not once turned it over.
Now, if you are coaching, who do you place your confidence in when the chips are down?

Maybe Tom
Just doesnt Like Bush. Cause its obvious Darren has more probable cause to get 1 Carry a game, not Michael
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
But Bush is so much better
and durable. Bush learning from Fargas and you got a monster right there. McFadden’s a china doll.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Bush+McFadden
Thats a scary duo if used properly..Its obvious Darren isnt the between the tackle type RB, but he is good when he gets into space. Tosses and Swing passes are designed for him. While he gets mayeb 10 Carries, Mostly Tosses, And Bush gets 20-25 Carries. But, I only suggest this when Fargas moves on.

Yeah...
Whats there not to like about him as a RB..He does his best every game and usually puts up impressive numbers when given X amount of carries

Fargas’ my favorite Raiders. But I think Bush is being underused and McFadden is being over used (cuz I want him off the field).
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
McFadden
He is being inproperly used. Not overly used. And yeah, Bush is really being underused
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
Why Not?
He kick your dog?
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
Because
he’s a bust. He can’t stay healthy, can’t stay upright, and can’t hold onto the ball. I have no good reason to like him. And everyone that does is just going on what he MIGHT be able to do. I’m basing on what I’ve seen from him.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Its ridiculous
Since the KC game, every team Oaklands played has had a strong run D. Washington has a woeful Run D. Maybe Tom will reward his patience by giving him playing time
Communications Out!
We go live. Speculation is finished. Reality lies before us. 3 hours of intense existential football.
