Chris Johnson deal finalized

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Chris Johnson (CB) was signed to a 4 year deal that will make him the starting left corner for the 2009 season. He played well after the departure of DeAngelo Hall. Standout games that he shined in include: Houston and Denver.

Hopefully Asomugha is next to sign a contract, but i think he will end up getting the exclusive franchise tag.

definetly a big signing

we needed Chris Johnson to step up when D-hall got cut and he did… maybe this will inspire him to be a great full time compliment to Asomugha all year long..

Excellent news

He did a great job in the last few games he player, solidifies a corner position and if somehow the Raiders can sign Nnamdi, gives the Raiders great corners for the next few years. Wilson is very good, just need Huff to figure it out, or hope like hell that Branch, Bowie or Eugene catch fire.
The Raiders won’t have to draft a defensive back now, can concentrate on linemen, receivers or LB.

wouldn't say great for both

But an elite back and a damn good one averages out pretty nicely.

I would hope that we pick up a good d-lineman in free agency, maybe draft a receiver, then add depth to the o-line and LB corps.

No one will throw to him. Cool J, his new nickname, will have to step up. I mean come on, he has Nnamdi teaching him. IF NNAMDI GETS SIGNED AGAIN!!!! I hope he becomes good.

chris johnson will be added to the list of experienced corners the raiders have went after throughout our history as a franchise cause he can play very well in man coverage which is no big secret that the raiders will always turn to on defense and having experience always helps it took nnamdi a while to come into his own and to have him leave would be heart wrenching cause the raiders added a solid guy on the other side to help asomugha.
