Oakland Raiders News: Marquis Cooper Prayer and Good Mojo Thread:

My heart is truly saddened that these three young men remain lost as sea. Like I said yesterday, it touches home because many of my closest friends have gone out further than 30 miles on an 18 foot boat and on any trip they may not come back. I have often acompanied them, but never that far out on a  boat that small.

This story touches all of us because one of these young men, the Captain of the boat, is Oakland Raider Linebacker/Special Teamer Marquis Cooper.

Here is a prayer that I found for People lost at sea:

Eternal Father, Strong to save

Whose arm hath bound the restless wave

Who bids the mighty ocean deep

Its own appointed limits keep

Oh, hear us when we cry to thee

For those in peril on the sea.

Times like this remind us all of the strong human spirit and I pray that Marquis becomes a symbol for strength and determination and is found alive.

USCG Suspending Search

The US Coast Guard announced that it will suspending its search at 6:30pm EST.

Devastating news.

"I love being here. I love these players. I'm loyal to these players and this team, all right? I'm on the side of the players and the Raiders. And anybody who isn't on the side of the Raiders, then I'm not with them." - Randy Hanson, DB coach.

I know how it feels....

I just wanted to express my sympathy to the families, friends and fans of the missing men. My father and two friends were lost at sea in 1995. It’s really hard to endure a tragedy like this, especially when there’s no closure. My prayers are with the missing and everyone who loved them. So sorry….

My sympathies to you as well:

I was wondering when it is that you hope that they are found regardless of their fate.

There is something to be said for being swallowed by the sea as opposed to being found posthumously.

But when they start scheming us the way these guys did, and we weren't particularly ready for it, anything can happen."
