Bears Get Big Splash With Cutler

The Chicago Bears have finally gotten that QB that they have needed for so long by trading for Jay Cutler. No- This isn't like Saint and his April Fools Joke, this is supposed to be real and ESPN has the Story. Supposedly the Bears give up Kyle Orton and Two First Rounders for Cutler. I don't know if this is Good or Bad but I know I don't like the Donk's getting Two First Rounders, but I can deal with Orton, because he is inconsistent.

Star-divide

How does the Raider Nation respond? I know that we can whip up on the Donks like we did in December- but it'll take consistency. I don't know if the Donks will rebound from this catastrophe inside their own organization, but the Raiders need to be prepared for anything.

What do you guys think about this trade?

I am elated

this obviously makes Denver weaker, and who cares about the picks, that is just a crap shoot. I remember when we got picks for letting Gruden go to TB, my recollection is that none of the picks worked out very well, and didn’t help the Raiders very much.

Kool

GET OUT OF OUR DIVISION. I will enjoy knock’in Kyle around instead of Cutler.

The Broncos get

From ESPN:

To acquire Cutler, the Bears had to give up quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round picks in 2009 and 2010, along with a third-round pick in 2009.

 Here is the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4037373

The Broncos can have a good draft, but there is no guarantee. The offense just took a big hit :)

I think that

this will set the Donk’s back a whole 5-10 years… but it’s so fun to watch their future implode on them right in their face.. =D

Ehhh

They don’t have cutler but they got a bunch of good picks (more chance they’ll work out)

I’ve also heard conflicting trade terms. The one that I hear the most is:

Broncos get: 2009 (1st and 3rd), 2010 (1st), and Kyle Orton

Broncos lose: Jay Cutler and 2009 (5th)

2 Picks in the first round so..

… who’s to say they don’t trade up and go for a qb in the draft? Orton is good occasionally, at best, and pish for the most part. there’s a few teams that may like to get more than one 1st pick so would be willing to give up an earlier shot to the Mountain My Little Ponies.

Rookies are playing in Denver (Remember.)

I Don’t think that the Broncos have what it takes to support young talented players like what happened to Glenn Dorsey with the Chiefs last year.

IF they turn thier picks into:

Sanchez, Peria Jerry and Barden, then it may be a good thing for them. Even then, Cutler is the 3rd best QB (Many Donkey fans would argue that he is THE best) drafted in the past four years and that is difficult to replace.

But when they start scheming us the way these guys did, and we weren't particularly ready for it, anything can happen."

so then the Broncos

now have two first rounders this year and two third rounders. With a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball in the draft this year, count me as worried about Denver this year. Orton’s actually a better fit for McDaniels’s scheme, though he is less talented.

I can however be happy that Cutler went to a team with no WR talent whatsoever. And now that they have no first round pick this year or next, they won’t be getting any for a while.

We will see how they do.

If they gave a good draft then i will start to get worried. But until then the guy who torched us at home is now gone, so i am modertely happy.

Man

Cutler is out, it is a good thing, but two 1st round picks and a 3rd, come on man. He is a huge upgrade, but no one is that desperate. I hate to see what they do with those picks.

O well, Cutler is gone. Yeaaaaa!

Those terms were a little too much for Cutler

The Bears were desperate for a franchise quarterback so that’s why I think they took him. Who knows maybe Cutler will do better that ever or Cry like a little bitch again and ask to be traded?

The Bears have someone to protect his blind side now with the signing of left tackle Orlando Pace.

Nothing Serious

It was a pre-draft issue and I believe his behavior has matured. Absolutely no worries on Mcfadden for me.

Ehhh

Doesn’t sound serious at all, I doubt the bouncer will win anything. Plus Mcfadden can hire great lawyers now. All these “problems” just sound like people trying to cash in on his success.

From the article
McFadden was not charged in the incident at the Ernie Biggs piano bar and the police report did not determine who struck Hankins. Security videotape is also inconclusive.
These are all old issues, and McFadden has done well to stay out of trouble since — and be sure, if he were in another Little Rock fight, the story would get out. It always has. He’s too big a fish to lay low in that small bowl. Still, the sooner he can settle these lingering matters, the sooner football can be his lone focus.

And a more detailed link about the incident here.

da bears

gave up some good draft picks for cutler. It’s a big risk for them but apparently they think jay cutler is the answer. well enough about things that dont really matter. in my opinion , the broncos will be set back because of the loss. But i do not count on them being a terrible team for years to come, anything can happen and they can draft some real talent this year. OUR guys need to step up and show everyone what they can do. I’m picking us to beat up on denver this season and to also get atleast one win in each of the series against KC and SD.

I Agree

The Broncos won’t be that good but, certainly not enough to win the division. As for the Bears I think that Jay was there awnser as long as he acts like a responsible QB should. I am a little worried about the Broncos drafting good players in the draft. My nightmare is if they pick up Raji with number 12 that would really suck for us cuz we killed that team on the ground in most of the games that we have won. We would have to resort to our passing game which has improved but, not enough for us to win games one dimensional (not including special teams).

Yeah,

i dont want the donks to get raji. Unless he is going to be a slacker stoner. So much is up in the air right now ! damnit. I think Mcfadden is going to open it up this year.

Another AFC west team rebuilding

Denver-won’t be very good without Cutler but they had to cut the cancer away and get something for it. They are now rebuilding and will be looking at Safford/Sanchez very closely. I see 5-11
Bears-Short term upgrade at QB yet no targets for Cutler. It would waste his talent to hand off to the RB all season long with no one to throw to. Could Hester finally have a break out WR year? The Bears, if they land a good receiver (and it won’t be in the draft) are playoff bound.
San Diego-looks to win the division by default unless the Raiders really do something.
at any rate… The AFC west looks to have a couple of doormat years ahead of it.

looking forward to the next 30 years of this team
