my mock draft wishes
1. B.J. Raji (DT) Boston College
- a major improvement over Sands in our 4-3 scheme
2. Clay Matthews Jr. (OLB) USC
- a force to help stuff the run, Morrison will be fine at MLB
3. Ramses Barden (WR) Cal Poly
- a big target for Russell in the red zone and a good deep threat
4. Jason McCourty (CB) Rutgers
- a fast corner for depth and dime coverage
7. Andrew Hartline (OT) Central Michigan
- a late round steal for our zone blocking scheme
I think these guys would solidify our team and cover a lot of holes. I didn't draft a safety because I believe Mike Huff is the guy to play FS with Tyvon Branch at SS. I didn't draft a DE because Trevor Scott and Derrick Burgess should be the starters with Richardson and Gunheim as the backups. Enjoy :)

Yeah, Raji is our man...
I totally agree with your 1st and 3rd round picks but I think we should address our offensive line in the 2nd round before a LB and I highly doubt C.Matthews will make it out of the 1st round. T.Scott and J.Richardson do have potential to be good but I have given up on M.Huff. Nobody has had more whiffs than him except maybe Tony Montana and nobody has gotten burned more than him except maybe Cheech and Chong…haha!
I don't think that Raji...
will ever convince me, his teamate Ron Brace impressed me more than he did.
I’m going with:
1. Brian Orakpo
2. Brian Robiskie
3. Clint Sintim
4. Emanuel Cook
7. Khalif Mitchell
I also like your picks
but I don’t think Orakpo will be there at #7 is why I said Raji since our biggest weakness last season was stopping the run. I am a huge Ohio State fan and love Robiskie but I love the Raiders a lot more and I realize that we need a number 1 receiver. I don’t think Robiskie would be able to play that role at the NFL level but, you never know. I’m pretty happy with Walker and Schilens being the starters and Higgins in the slot but Barden would be an upgrade over any of our receivers and possibly our #1 target with his size and speed. Really though, any offensive line help would be nice so Zach Miller can start catching more balls.
To be successful in 2010 we need better play from the offensive line and some guys to stop the run.
Tomorrow is the draft!!! :)

At least somebody at DT...
Are you saying that Raji wouldn’t be an upgrade over Kelly and Sands? We don’t need to draft a DE because Burgess, Scott and Richardson are good enough but we’re not getting any production from our DT positions. These two big dummies aren’t plugging the middle and forcing opposing offensive linemen to double team them so our LB’s can make plays. That’s why teams are running all over us and controlling the clock. If not Raji then any DT rated in the top 5 would make me happy.
the constant three and outs
can’t be helping either. also, when ur up the entire game ur bound to get more rushing yards.
Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!
how do Scott and burgess start
when all they are, are pass rushers? Richardson has solidified a starting spot because he’s a great run stopper with a developing pass rush that’s looking pretty good.

BJ Raji is an awful value pick for the no. 7 spot because of where he would play, not because of his play
Im not the dude that picks a nose tackle at the no. 7 spot. That is where he would play most likely, and if I had to pick between Andre Smith in the first and ron brace in the early second OR BJ Raji at 7 and william beatty in the second round, im going with the andre smith and brace combo because the more important position, Left Tackle, is addressed first and a very adequate nose tackle is taken as well, instead of a solid nose with above average pass rush ability and a project tackle.
If crabtree is available at the no. 7 spot, then im all for it. But i am also open if in the second round, regardless of the first round pick, the raiders should really consider drafting duke robinson at Right Guard for the potential replacement of cooper carlisle. He is a very big guard with above average quickness and outrageous strength.
Go defense
Not a bad mock but don’t think Matthews falls to us in the 2nd and Barden I hope he falls to us in the 3rd
Don’t think Sintim falls to the 3rd either.
As for Andre Smith or any OL at 7 If the raiders were thinking of drafting an OL at 7 why sign Barnes knowing they could get 1 of the top 4 OL in the Draft Pears and Johnson were added for depth but have starting experience. Satele at center. Normally teams sign FA at positions so they don’t have to draft that position.
updated mock..
1. Rey Maulauga LB
2. Ron Brace DT
3. Ramses Barden WR
4. David Veikune DE
7. Mike Mitchell SS
I still think we will trade Walter and/or Sands for a 5th.
Best of luck to the Raiders on draft day!
