Pro offense
Darius heyward bey is from a pro style offense, last year the top rookie recievers were Eddie Royal from tech and Desean Jackson from Cal. While neither of these teams really run a true pro offense they dont run any extreme spread offense either. Watch a game with Crabtree or Maclin not there highlights. You will see that what they do best is screens and short hitches were they would get the ball almost immediately after the snap. This is effective in college but besides working occasionally in the nfl its not used much because it doesnt work. More examples. Remember the 2007 draft. Top rookie wideouts based on production in the nfl are obviously Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Bowe. Calvin Johnson played for Georgia Tech which runs a options all day. While not a pro style offense CJ is obviously a freak of nature and could have played for navy and been drafted second overall. Dwayne Bowe on the other hand turned out to be an excellent NFL player after playing in LSU's pro style offense.
Also just wanted to say that this is one of the weakest drafts in a long time and if you need any proof the one team that even if you dont like you cannot deny they have some of the best talent evaluators, the patriots, completely left the first round.
