Brandon Myers

This guy is going to turn out to be one of our better picks this year even though no one but raiders fans will know who he is.

Even the Raider haters at espn have said this guy could prove to be a steal

Myers is not a pass catcher and pretty much all of the criticism with him is problems with getting a clean release and getting seperation. However he is an incredibly physical tight end and good blocker which will allow Miller to go out and catch rather than having to stay in and block. and obviously it will help our run game.

so...we get pissed at the raiders for reaching

but then they make a solid pick, and we’re still pissed?

Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!

he was a 6th rounder im just pointing out that that pick was a good one

I don't understand it...

Z.Miller is our future and we hardly ever run a two TE set. I mean if we didn’t have other pressing needs then great, we got another TE with potential but unfortunately, we did have other needs even if it was a 6th round pick.

we're going to be running more two-TE sets

cable’s hinted numerous time that it will be our primary offensive package.

exactly and having a solid blocking te in two te sets will allow miller to go out and catch

If you watch the games toward the end of the season when we were playing well on O

especially the tampa game they were running a lot of 2 TE sets and the offence really clicked.
I have also heard cable mention a couple of times the success we had with 2 TE’s

"Mel Kiper has his opinion and I respect it. But what does it mean? My 9-year-old nephew can watch film and make an opinion. I think I value the opinion of scouts who get paid to make their opinions. It will carry me through my career. It will serve as motivation for me." - Mike Mitchell

We need someone other than Miller

At the TE position who can be a threat he can’t do it all. I am glad we took him so what to do with Stewart.

i think we only

didn’t run more two TE sets last year because we didn’t have a physical second TE.

I never heard that...

but even if we do run more two TE sets, we already had Z.Miller for receiving and three others in D.Strong, T.Stewart and B.Troupe to battle it out for the blocking TE. Our DT’s in G.Warren hasn’t really worked out and T.Kelly and T.Sands are killing us the middle.

Miller,an Myers look like twins

Besides name and number,When they rotate I bet you the commentators are gonna get their names crossed all the time. No dout Miller has better hands, but Myers might prove toughest and a better blocker, exactly who we need to come in after Miller has just caught the deep ball. A great need the RAIDERS had last year, since he had to do alot of both jobs. I think that pick had more to do with Rotation, But the two-TE sets are gonna be lovely.

Taking this guy over the Jean-Francois defensive tackle from LSU wasn’t exactly the right thing to do in my view. Did you really need to draft a blocking tight end?

it all depends on what you blame for our defensive issues. I think it was a result of poor coaching not personnell since there were games we would shut other teams run games down than we couldnt tackle to save our lives

Brandon Myers

Good pick. I’ve watched Brandon his whole career here in Iowa. He comes from a good program that runs alot of pro-style looks, and demands a decent blocking TE. He CAN catch the ball as well (34/441/4TD as a senior). He will take the pressure off Zach, not replace him. Will be or already is a better blocker than others on the roster right now. Trust me. Good pick.

We just gotta wait

We have to wait and see how this draft plays out. With the things that iv read here it seems like the Raiders drafted future Hall of Famers or complete busts. But its too late now, theres nothing we could do…so lets just see how it goes.
