NO LOVE FOR ESPN
I apologize in advance if someone has alread posted something similar to this. i'm a bit behind since coming back from a family reunion in Tahoe. I've posted two links below, both having to do with espn and their bias, lack of class, and just plain unobjective reporting when it comes to the raiders. please view them inorder it will make more sense. also, be sure to watch the video link on the first one. the video itself just made me sick.
this all stems from our first round pick, DHB. i was watching the draft from a sports bar in reno. my reatction was not of that of most of raider nation and the critics. i had heard about this kid way back in january. yes, maybe alittle high for a no.7, but who really knows what happened during the draft with trying to trade down. anyway, that being said, there is no way that this kid ,DHB, deserved the treatment and being made fun of by tom (jackass) jackson, trent dilfer, and cris carter, especially infront of his family. and for what it is worth, i hope DHB makes the pro bowl his rookie year and makes cris(where my crack torch)carter neal down and apologize to him.
I'm sick and tired of espn and all the east coast reporting done on the raiders. its time something needs to be done about it, a boycott, e-mail campagin, whatever. i'm all for anyone having there own opinion, BUT DON'T CALL YOURSELF A REPORTER/INSIDER AND A WORLD WIDE LEADER IN SPORTS WHILE DOING IT! a reporter is objective and unbias, espn clearly is not. here are the links.

ESPN only likes the West Coast when it comes to Lakers basketball, USC football and maybe even UCLA basketball.

It really saddens my heart
When people from ESPN disrespect and talk shit about an upcoming Rookie player just because he is with the Oakland raiders. This sucks they should all be fired and sued by Mr. Davis and like I said they talked shit and laughed about him while he was waiting to be interviewed with his family beside him I know that DHB will blow up and when he does I want to see those bastard ass ESPN reporters faces that is if they still have a job.

Defense Wins Championships and So does Jamarcus Russell!

To be honest
it is great for the Raiders to have players come in disrespected as opposed to people falling all over themselves praising a player. There is no greater motivation for a player to have than to prove to somebody that he is a bad player with bad hands etc.
Cable does not have to inspire DHB or Mitchell, they do not have to be motivated.
I would think it should work for Russell also since it is widely reported that he is on the “bust watch”. Never mind that he was essentially a rookie last year and almost all rookies have tough years their first year out. Surprisingly, McFadden escaped the bust tag, some said he underachieved, and believe it or not, some even knew he had turf toe, didn’t know that information got all the way to Bristol, Conn.

I remember when The Patriots drafted Mayo over Rivers:
ESPN started talking about how great he must be because The Pats took him. If that were the Raiders they’d be blasting them by saying that Rivers is much better and that Mayo would have been there in the late 1st Round.
The best thing about this draft is that Al and Tom can sleep well at night knowing that they got their players and didn’t risk losing any of them.
I mean, what if they traded down and someone selected Eugene Monroe and then the Jags took DHB, whom they favored over Crabtree?
They executed their plan to near perfection for the first two rounds. And that is all any team can hope for.
But when they start scheming us the way these guys did, and we weren't particularly ready for it, anything can happen."

What's Al done in the last 20 years to earn the benefit of doubt?
by RaiderPete on Apr 30, 2009 5:42 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
what's that mean?
is your point that al has shown bad judgement is the last 20 years and the raiders deserve this. that’s no justification to go after and make fun of a kid who hasn’t even set foot on the field, and doing it infront of his family. talk about no integrity and no class.

My point is that there is a reason analysts give Belichick the benefit of doubt and not Al
Ripping a guy while he’s on the podium is a bummer, DHB can use some of the millions he’s about to earn to dry his eyes. But it’s their job to criticize, whether you agree with the criticism or not.

thats their JOB
its just their opinion and their completely entitled to it. We have to start winning before we can expect some love from the media

"Mel Kiper has his opinion and I respect it. But what does it mean? My 9-year-old nephew can watch film and make an opinion. I think I value the opinion of scouts who get paid to make their opinions. It will carry me through my career. It will serve as motivation for me." - Mike Mitchell
