FB LORENZO NEAL SIGNS WITH RAIDERS
According to RaiderBeat.com, free agent FB Lorenzo Neal has just signed with the Raiders. This has also been confirmed by David White who is at the Raiders' mini camp and has seen Neal suit and take the field. Great news and at a minimum a solid hammer for a backup and added depth.
Oren O'Neal is also suited up but so far is not yet practicing, so Neal is some insurance.

I can’t wait to see him lift Merriman off the ground week 1!

AS IF
we needed some more weaponry in the back field. this cat iz a gonna mow down some fools. opponents will have there hands full tryin to stop our running game this year. with them having to put extra men in the box to try to slow down Fargas and DMC blazin out of the backfield it’s gonna open up our receivers downfield. I DON’T CARE WHAT ANY OF THE “experts” HAVE TO SAY. THE OAKLAND RAIDERS are doing big things this off season and puttin together a pretty impressive team. plenty of teams are gonna sleep on us, but once we start knockn hats off fools and running the score up, then maybe they’ll wake up and start givin us our RESPECT!!!!
Great Veteran Pickup
Now that the Raiders have most of the positions filled up, we can focus on preparing ourselves for MNF and whipping up on the Dolts!! RRRAAAIIIDDDEEERRRSSS!!!!

Just finished reading the mini camp write up.
From Lorenzo’s quotes, he seems like a Ray Lewis type of player, in the way that he can provide veteran leadership and motivate our extremely young squad. I’m LOVING how Cable is bringing in team first players, love it. Come to think of it, I truly beleive Cable runs things now. I mean if he wasn’t, we’d have “getch’r popcorn ready” on this team.
HAHAHA!!! getch'r popcorn ready...LMAO
But when they start scheming us the way these guys did, and we weren't particularly ready for it, anything can happen."

feeling better about this
after the draft I was left a little skeptical… we passed on a few needs that would have been considered “better” in Orakpo and Raji (even Crabtree) to go with Darrius Heyward-Bey. The signing of Neal is a good one, age not withstanding, and has Al’s name written all over it down deep. He loves the “plan B” players and many have resurected careers wearing the shield.
Forget about Neal standing up Merriman… I can’t wait to see Mitchell put a hit on Gates that leaves his kids feeling dizzy. I think Hank Jr. sings it best… “Are you ready for some football?”
looking forward to the next 30 years of this team
BREAKING NEWS
The St. Louis Rams have just released LB Pisa Tinoisamoa. I’d LOVE to be a witness of a Howard, Tinoisamoa, Morrison linebacker core!!!
agreed.
I would love to see the depth at lineback adding Tinoisamoa in the middle and moving Morrison to the outside where he is more natural… It ups the competition and leadership just like the signing of Garcia and Neal. The Raiders will probably stay away as I think the price tag is a bit high, but who knows.
In watching Cable’s press conference yesterday on the Raiders home page… Cable does all but indicate that Walter is done in Oakland stating that he (walter) has a “lot of catching up to do”
looking forward to the next 30 years of this team
Lorenzo Neal will be great
Our offense is looking stout. We got Heyward-Bey and Higgins as our speedy deep threats. And we got Miller and Schilens to clean up in the red zone. McFadden and Bush will run all over anyone. Still though I am kind of upset about everything we’ve done so far.
It has been our weakness for years now and we still didn’t address it this offseason. We STILL won’t stop the run. We didn’t get anyone that makes me believe we will be able to slow down the run game. Kelly and Warren are more like pass rushers and Sands just can’t play ball. As excited as I am for our elite secondary, the front 7 won’t be able to stop the run, so teams will just run all over us instead of passing because they won’t need to. Hopefully, i’m wrong and we got a new defensive scheme to help stuff the run better.

stop the run?
tee-NO-saw-MO-ah can stuff it. Kinda short but an exceptional talent at MLB.

hell yeah...
Pisa, Thomas, and Kaptain Kirk….that a be dope….and as for Lo Neal, all he does is block for 1500 yard rushers..

BREAKING NEWS
The Oakland Raiders have reached an agreement with free agent wide receiver Samie Parker.
Neal is the best pickup this offseason.
not only because he’s a great blocker and receiver out of the backfield, and not because he’s good insurance for O’Neal. Because he’s a leader and motivator of men. I’m sure we’ve all read his interview and how he says the game is won on Monday, tuesday, Wednesday, etc. It’s the work off the field and even off the practice field that matters most. If he can get people like Kelly, Sands, you know, the slackers; to go to the weight room or the film room after practice, this team is instantly better. Not just on offense, but on defense and even special teams.

I agree this is a great signing
Just the kind of real leadership we need on offense along with jeff garcia. Even if neither of these guys play much just having them around the group is going to be fantastic.
It really seems that NFL players are really buying into what Cable is doing, I dont think there is any chance players like Namndi, Garcia and Neal would have signed here last year but there is definitely a great feel about this team and coach cable
"Mel Kiper has his opinion and I respect it. But what does it mean? My 9-year-old nephew can watch film and make an opinion. I think I value the opinion of scouts who get paid to make their opinions. It will carry me through my career. It will serve as motivation for me." - Mike Mitchell
Lorenzo Neal
Don’t sleep on this signing! Zo Neal is going to be critical to McFadden’s growth this year. The rebuilding of the Raiders is well under way… i can’t wait to get into the hole and watch us regain our role of AFC domination.
Light up the Freakin Halo!
Neal
is a great addition, as said by many his leadership and work ethic is amazing. The lead blocking for McFadden should lead to a break-out season.
I hope he(Neal) can talk Bush into being a fullback. Just imagine Bush and McFadden in the back field at the same time on 4 downs either can break a big run or catch the ball out of the back field the defenses would have a hard time guessing what is coming.
Donovin Darius
I don’t mean to burst anyone’s bubble about the signing of Lorenzo Neal, but does anyone remember Donovin Darius? The Raiders signed him in the 2007 offseason to be our hard-hitting SS. Unfortunately, he was cut before the regular season even started and Stuart Schweigert and Michael Huff failed to make an impact all year. This might be the case with Neal since we already have O’neal and Lawton. I say Neal is better than both of these guys but it’s hard to say how effective and durable he will be due to his age. The point of my post is don’t be surprised and disappointed if Lorenzo Neal gets cut because after being a Raider fan for so long I now expect the unexpected.
But, the idea of Neal blocking for McFadden and Bush definently gets my blood pumping and shows me flashes of two Raider running backs getting over 1,000 yards a piece in a single season.
