Run DMc
I am wondering what kind of production you all think we can expect from last years number 1 draft pick Darren McFadden who has gone completely under the radar this off-season.
I the Raider Nation was all very excited about the arrival of McFadden last year but after a break out game against the Queefs he struggled with injuries for the rest of the season other than the 2 TD game against the Donkeys.
He ended up with 499 yards on 113 carries 4.4 ypc in 13 games and 4 TD's.
He also had 29 Catches for 285 yards.
I think he will definitely be the feature player of this offense and they will getting him the ball early and often in the pass and run game, I remember Cable talking about a whole section of the playbook that they had designed specifically for him but were unable to use most plays because of his health problems, they eventually ran a few for Michael Bush (bush pass to Miller P.I. etc)
If he can stay healthy I think he will be dynamite this year I'm gonna say:
1500 all purpose yards with 12 Touchdowns maybe a couple of passing TD's aswell hopefully.
What do you guys think?

I know he had 2 turf toes
but apparently The Raiders have been working w/ Nike to develop shoes for him so we’ll see.

As said in the Neal signing
Neal’s blocking will lead to some big plays for DMac and the running game in general. In my opinion Bush and DMac should be our feature backs and Fargas as the 3rd.

Yeah its excitiing
to think that we will have Neal blocking for MsFadden and just having his experience and leadership will be a major bonus

The problem is that
running backs get injured. He would have been great last year but as SD fans saw with LT and also Gates, turf toe or toe injuries are almost as bad as a knee injury except you don’t need an operation. The fact that McFadden did as well as he did is very promising, he was just a shadow of himself after the injury, used mostly as a decoy. If he doesn’t get injured and if used properly he could be electric. I don’t want to see him running a lot of off tackle plays, that should be Bush. Get McFadden outside, let him run races with the DB’s. I will take my chance there. Pound the ball inside with Bush, run outside with McFadden.

Agreed
Pound Bush up the middle and use DMac on end rounds and screens to keep him healthiest don’t run DMac up the gut. When Neal lays out the end or LB its pay dirt for DMac.

I should have said
I didn’t want him running inside the tackles. I want him running on the outside, and catching screens and flair patterns. I don’t want to see him getting beat up running inside.

i'm thinking...
the same thing as you. I really see Darren McFadden showing up this year and might be one of the leading rushers in the AFC if he stays healthy.

Those Turf Toes
Really pissed me off If he was healthy than he would have easily made over 1,000 yards, won a few more games, and the fact we run the ball about 50 times a game will help. He should have a great Rookie season last year but, like his and Jamarcus’ rookie season they weren’t top-notch or the best they could have been. The singing of Neal I think will really help the running game and he played for the Chargers so hopefully he knows a thing or two about the players there, we should have a good rushing rank but, our passing will be better but, i see it in the low 20’s.
Amazing, Jamarcus Russell hands off to McFadden who pitches it back to Russell who finds Darrius Heyward Bey in the Middle of the Field wide open 30, 20,10,5 Touchdown Raiders! Amazing. This telecast is Brought to you by Cable.
