Yesterday, the Oakland Raiders waived linebacker Frantz Joseph, an undrafted rookie that was signed after the 2009 draft. I'd like to thank black and silver blood for the FanPost. This "waive" comes a day after sixth-round defensive lineman Stryker Sulak was waived. Here some thoughts by the Raider Beat staff.

The Raiders waived rookie linebacker Frantz Joseph on Tuesday in a move that comes as somewhat of a surprise, just as their decision to waive sixth-round draft pick Stryker Sulak did Monday.

Also:

It’s possible that the Raiders might bring back Joseph at some point during training camp this summer. For now, he didn’t show enough promise to warrant a roster spot.

Last night, the American League defeated the National League in the 2009 MLB All-Star Game, 4-3. According to yesterday's poll results on the DLD, 79 percent of you did not watch the game. Also, zero percent of you voted for the last option, so I was really surprised.

As far as Bay Area teams go, San Francisco's starting pitcher Tim Lincecum started the game and pitcher Matt Cain did not pitch. Oakland's Andrew Bailey didn't pitch, either; however, there was some Oakland history involved. Oakland Athletics closer Dennis Eckersley had three saves in All-Star Game history. That was tied for the most until Mariano Rivera retired former Athletic Miguel Tejada to break the record tonight.

As far as the game goes, Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Carl Crawford won MVP of the game. He became the first position player since 1968 to win the honor despite recording an RBI. Also, the National League hasn't won since 1996. The American League has been dominant and won every single game (excluding the "tie game)" in the decade.
