Crabtree holdout probable?
Found this at Rotoworld.com
According to beat writer Matt Maiocco, "there are indications that it will be a challenge for the 49ers to get (Michael Crabtree) signed before the start of training camp."
"The sides are still far apart in contract negotiations and Crabtree's agent, Eugene Parker, is known for holdouts. Crabtree wants to be paid like a top-five player because that's where he "should have" gone. Crabtree is already far behind the 49ers' other receivers as he missed the entire offseason program (foot). This could be more trouble"

I know we haven't signed DHB yet but everything points to this being smooth negotiations I think its funny that he wants to paid as a top-5 player becasue that where he 'should' have gone - WHAT A JACKASS! and maybe if he wasnt such a douchebag who rolled 20 deep to pre draft workouts and cries like a baby because he is a pussy as well as over inflated stats due to the system he played in, he may have gone top 5.
If I went to my company and said "I should be the CEO of this company so I should get CEO money", they would laugh in my face and rightly so. The DHB decision keeps looking better and better.
And dont forget Mr Crabtree you have a appointment with one Mr Mitchell over the middle August 22nd DONT BE LATE! but something tells me he may conveniently 'still injured' or 'holding out' for this game.

Why does everyone hate Michael Crabtree? What did he ever do to some of these people on this blog? It seems like people just want to pick around with a rusty screwdriver at this guy for everything he does.

I think
its his pre-madonna attitude that rubs people wrong. There is a reason he dropped to the 9ers. I’m guessing it was his attitude and the system he played in.
What has TO done to anyone but no one wanted him here in Oakland (and he is a proven player) so attitude counts for alot.
I’m just glad we didn’t draft him.

he's a 49er
nuff said.
o and apparently a total D-bag.
Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!
I Say
We can’t really talk about Crabtree holding out until we confirm our signed pick
R.I.P - Michael Jackson
Who cares if he holds out to begin with, though? He’s not our problem.

Yeah maybe im being a little over defensive about all the criticism
However I just really dont like the guy what can I say? He totally dissed us as if HE was too good for US, and now he plays for the 49ers do I really need any other reasons?

And its always fun to have someone 'hate'
I dont hope he gets injured or anything sports are more fun when there is a bad guy and I hope he is around for us to beat him up for years to come. We will always be linked anyway as DHB vs Crabtree will be an ongoing comparison as long as they are playing and im gonna back our guy and actively root against the other dude.

Hey if you aint with us your against us.
And I think its funny that after all the crap we have copped for not taking him it looks like he is turning out to be the poster boy for the negative perception of young athletes.

I'm Not against anyone
Go back to when you all were worshiping him. I was the only one on here that was against it. I still think it;s a good move NOT drafting the bum. I’m just pointing out the fact that all of you are a bunch of ship jumpers, first you think hes god now you talk shit. Just letting you know how you are.

well im glad you were here to point that out.
bottom line as soon as he was drafted by a team other than the raiders he is the enemy and once you publically insult the raiders and their fans im my book that makes you ‘hated’.
I may be missing something but I dont understand why you guys are defending a guy who a) publically showed disdain for the raiders team and fans b) who has acted like a complete prima donna since before the draft and since and c) PLAYS FOR THE WHINERS!
When a player on a rival team publically disparages your team you are SUPPOSED to not like him thats why rivalries are fun because beating the guys/team you hate is more fun than if you dont care.
It sounds like you guys STILL wanna suck him off.
Do you guys wanna start defending Sapp now as well? god damn people goin soft, cant even hate on a guy who dissed us no more you guys work for ESPN or something!

I disagree with everything you said.
Oh, no. He plays for the 49ers. He said something bad about is. God forbid anyone saying a bad thing about a team that has had the worst record in the NFL over the last six seasons.
I’d like to know how we’re acting like ESPN. We don’t accommodate ESPN and the media with official press releases and what not. Do you want them to send his gift baskets?
P.S.: San Francisco 49ers are not a rival team of ours. Geographically speaking, they’re close to us. It’s not like we’re rivals.

Well
to the league we are not rivals but, come on in the eyes of fans. I know you , me , and probably everyone has at least one family member or friend who is a 49er’s fan which makes this “rivalry” fun.

My dad is a 49ers fan.
If the Raiders and 49ers played in the Super Bowl like the A’s and the Giants had played in the World Series, it would be different. I just don’t feel like we’re rivals. They have the glorious San Francisco setting and the five Super Bowl rings. Sure, we have the 6-5 record head-to-head, but I just don’t feel like rivals. I don’t really get that feeling that I get after beating San Diego, Denver or Kansas City. To me, it’s another game. When the A’s play the Giants, it’s just different than it is when the Raiders play the 49ers. I don’t hate the 49ers like I hate the Giants. I have respect for the 49ers and everything they’ve accomplished. They are a distinguished franchise like we are.

ya, i agree, it's definitely a rivalry between the fans
but that still makes it a rivalry. when we pound on the niners, even if it’s preseason, it feels just as great as winning a regular season division game, because i get to go to school the next day and talk up my raiders.
do you live in the bay area? cuz if i didn’t i could see how you wouldnt consider Oak-SF a rivalry.
Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!
i'm just for the RAIDERS
and crabtree went to the enemy. i was againts him the second he was drafted by one of the 31 teams not named the Oakland Raiders. do i think he has the tools to be great. yeah, i do. but just about everyone drafted in the first round must look like they have the tools to be great.
i’ve endured so much with this team over the last six years, if i was a front-runner, i wouldn’t be a raider fan.
Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!
Well I see but,
There are great rivalries throughout the league like the Colts vs The Patriots every time we see that game it is super exciting almost like a Raider game Almost but, anyway they are not in the same division and still generate a huge rival status I think there were like 3rd or 2nd on NFL Network’s top 10 countdowns of Rivals of something like that.

The Colts and Patriots (somehow) play each other in the regular season every year and have met in the playoffs on multiple occasions.
Speaking of rivalry rankings by NFL Network, I think the one you’re talking about is the “greatest feuds of all time” one and we came in first with our rivalry being against, well, the entire world.

the schedule
schedules are created by rotating one whole out of conference and one whole in conference division yearly plus ur divisions teams twice then the other two divisions in ur conferences correspnding teams according to the standings …so it’ll be like afc west plays the whole nfc east the whole afc east and the third place teams from the afc north and south hypothetically… thats how the pats and colts playe evry year there always first place teams in the same conference not this year tho … but the whole afc east does play the whole afc south

I know. The AFC West is playing the NFC East this year and the AFC North. To make up the difference in two games, we’re playing the Jets and Texans since they both finished in third place in their own division like we did.
I meant “somehow” in the sense that it’s amazing how it works out that two teams that meet in the playoffs meet in the regular season every year. It’s sort of like us playing the Texans. It feels like they’re always on our schedule. For the second straight year, we have the Jets, Texans and Ravens. Including our divisional opponents, more than half of our games against teams that we played last year.

Saying that people on this board were 'worshipping' Crabtree
Is a gross misrepresentation of the true discussion at the time designed to do nothing but support your arguement. From what I rememeber there was a lot of discussion as to whether we should even take a reciever but those wanting a reciever were talking Crabtree as he was being trumpeted by the media as the obvious choice at reciever until the incedents involving Crabtree talking smack about us just before the draft and since then on was a steady diet of ‘hate’ for Mr Crabtree on this board.
I for one reserve my right to dislike and root against certain players and teams that have slighted us such as Mr Crabtree, Mr Moss/Patriots etc etc as I enjoy rooting against players and teams and get joy out of seeing these guys fail I think this makes sports more fun. I feel that the niners and raiders are natural rivals due to location and also for the fact in many ways the niners are the goody two shoes, champaigne swilling ‘anti-raiders’
I am happy to respectfully agree to disagree on this one
