Raiders and Heyward-Bey Deal Done
Adam Schefter of ESPN Future continues to drop some periodic scoops from his Twitter-only (until August 17) existence.
Earlier today, Schefter tweeted that the Raiders and receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, the seventh overall pick in the draft, have agreed to terms.
Per PFT.com: UPDATE: A league source tells us that Heyward-Bey's deal, which has not yet been signed, covers only five years. For the first sixteen picks in the draft, the maximum duration is six.
DHB will now make on the practice field for the team's first full-squad workout. This says a lot, as neither DHB or the Raiders waited for A. Smith drafted at #6 nor Monore at #8 to sign first.

Yes
I am electric about this. I hope it is not too much money. 5 years, 30 million would be my hope, but I know it is not the case.
R.I.P - Michael Jackson
This is good news and 32 percent of voters said he’d sign today.
I’m surprised that Andre Smith didn’t sign first because I think they both have the same agent.

This is the same guy who cried when Singletary mearly asked him why he was on the field …LMAO!!!! Was a BABY!!!
But when they start scheming us the way these guys did, and we weren't particularly ready for it, anything can happen."

Very good news indeed!
This is a young man of character who wants to prove himself. If he’s as determind as he was at the combine, Jamarcus will be very happy.

At least Crabs can catch.
Newly-signed first-round draft pick Darrius Heyward-Bey showed up for the second practice and while he dropped the first ball thrown his way, his mere presence spoke volumes.
He dropped a wobbly pass from Charlie Frye about 35 yards down the field. That was his first time on the field all day.

He is turning the corner now, so just relax. I don’t know why you’re coming here looking for trouble. Worry about your own team and stop worrying about us, okay?
