And the Diva is Back!!!!

Now i'm sure many of you were all surprised about the news of Brett Favre signing with the Vikings today pending a physical. Hopefully even more of you saw this coming a mile away as I did. We actually took a poll a while back and it was actually 50/50 on whether he would stay retired or change his mind...again.

There was no way in the world Brett was going to pass up on exactly what he wanted last year but didn't get, which was to play for the Vikings in the hopes of beating the Packers. He was instead left only to choose the Jets where he figured to make a big splash in a big city. Ya they started off well and everybody started sippin' the Kool-Aid (grape is my favorite), and the "experts" started gettin' on the bandwagon predicting the Jets for the Super Bowl. We all know how the story ends though with the bottom falling out, the Jets losing 4 of their last 5 games with Brett throwing 7 ints in the last 3 games. And this caused the Jets to miss the playoffs completely.

This definately was not the famed storyline Brett was supposed to end his career on. He was supposed to take the Jets into the playoffs and hopefully to the Super Bowl. And win or lose he would be able to say "Ha Packers, see what you passed up on! You should've never let me go." You know the same kind of line the sour ex-girlfriend gives you after you dump her for the girl from your work with perkier tits and DSL's. (and for those of you who don't know about DSL's...you better ask somebody)

Now when the prospect of Brett getting a chance to play this year with the Vikings came about, you had to know he wouldn't pass it up for anything. Of course he had to do it on his terms. He didn't want to go to mini-camps or training camps. He's Brett phukn Favre. He's run this style offense for 16 years before. He just wants to show up for the games people.

The worst thing about all of this is that this whole story has been an ongoing thing all summer on BSpn, which has basically turned into the TMZ of the sportsworld. And guess what Brett, that would make you the Paris Hilton of the football world. But that exactly what you wanted now wasn't it?

Well, he wants to play. He loves doing it, so he’ll keep doing it as long as body agrees.

seriously though rated

they were very well done, you should do DLD’s again I would hate to think the disagreement that was had means the end of a great feature of the board.

  1. Brett Favre is back and in a Minnesota Vikings uniform.
  2. Tarvaris Jackson, previously in a race to become the starting quarterback, is being shopped around the league according to Adam Schefter.
  3. Kyle Orton isn’t, well, very good and Brandon Marshall is unhappy. You don’t think Brett Favre needs a big target to throw to, do you?
  4. I think you understand what I’m trying to say.
  5. Wow, numbered lists are pretty cool.

broncos have no need to trade him though he could play or start racking up fines that his 4th round salary probably cant cover

by pablopaul25 on Aug 18, 2009 2:41 PM PDT up reply actions

However, if Tarvaris Jackson means something to them, they can get value in return for him.

It doesn’t have to be a straight exchange.

true..i just dont see it though or else they would have dealt him before

not to mention he wants a big contract and i dont see that happening there

I was just thinking of possible destinations for Tarvaris Jackson and the Broncos came to mind. I don’t know who else is a legitimate option.

Brandon Marshall returned to practice Tuesday, one day after telling the Broncos to give him a new contract or trade him.

He really doesn’t want to pay those $15,888 fines. The “standoff” ESPN predicted isn’t happening. Marshall still wants a raise, but he isn’t going anywhere as long as he’s participating with the team.

Also, keep in mind that he remains behind Jabar Gaffney and Brandon Stokley on the depth chart.

The cash registers are ringing already and it hasn’t been long at all.

The Minnesota Vikings are already selling Brett Favre jerseys on their store website.

The Vikings announced the signing of Favre on Tuesday, just a few weeks after it appeared as though the former Packers quarterback would stay retired.

I wonder how much being able to make a shit-load of money

on Jersey sales has to do with the signing.
Its a shame I thought Sage Ronsenfels looked really good in that offence but I also have a feeling Favre is going to be GREAT this year in an offence he knows, with that run game, Favre and their Defence thats a potential superbowl team

From

this article:

Childress also has undermined the other quarterbacks on his roster who will have to play if Favre goes down. Sage Rosenfels — who was promised the chance to compete for a starting spot when acquired in a March trade — never had a legitimate shot even after completing 10 of 13 passes in last Friday night’s preseason opener. Childress even stripped John David Booty of the No. 4 jersey he had worn since last season and gave it to Favre without blinking an eye.

Just sad. There’s more to read in that article too about Favre already alienating his teammates.
