Why he got fired?
Here’s a godd piece by Joe Kurkura.
It appears Hanson’s sudden change of heart was facilitated by the fact that the Raider organization attempted to demote him after the incident. The Post reports that Hanson had a phone conversation with Al Davis, and Davis gave him three options for a reduced role to minimize friction between him and Cable. One of these options was to simply not show up for work anymore and continue collecting his full pay.
And Hanson hung up on him
You DON’T hang up on Al. Ever.

I'll take the job
not showing up for work and getting paid sounds pretty damn good to me.

Who walks away from free money?
Unless you think you may get even more by suing.
At this point Hanson is just trying to play Al Davis for his testimony against Kiffin. We all know Davis don’t “play”. My guess is Davis pays his lawyers a bunch of money and the charges against Cable get dropped. Hanson ends up testifying agaist Kiffin and we won’t have a clue as to what really happened while Hanson gets some lame P.R. job with some other team or outside corporatation.

who gives a shit
hanson sounds like an opportunist. first with kiffin now with cable. just let the police handle the situation and quit sounding off on stupid reports from people that have no clue on what went happened. the media(espn, nfl network, etc.) are out to kill the raiders, no big secret. so don’t buy into the gossip.

You know that seen in the Dark Knight
When Bruce Wayne’s employee is telling Morgan Freeman/ Luscius Fox that he know’s Bruce is Batman and he wants money to keep quiet, and Luscius replies “Let me get this straight. You think that your employer, one of the richest men in the world, is spending his nights running around the city beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands? And your plan is to blackmail him? Good luck.”
That is kinda what I feel like telling Hanson about suing Al Davis.
Wherever I go, that's where I am.
