Silver And Black Pride Fantasy Football:

FINAL UPDATE: ONE DIVISION ELIMANTED (One team left, 20 teams total)

UPDATE: Two More Divisions (8 Teams have been added)

UPDATE: There are only 5 teams left (If there is a huge glut of interest then we can add two more divisions, 8 more teams)

With our membership approaching 1,500 members I figure it is time for a Fantasy Football League. So, I set up a League for us at FleaFlicker.

There will be 4 divisions, with 4 teams in each (I can always add more).

If you are interested in joining, then click on THIS LINK:

League: Silver and Black Pride

I love playing Fantasy Football and I can't think of anyone I'd rather play with this year, than this community.

Cheers,

Saint

Can someone explain to me

How fantasy football works?

There are rankings each week and points that players earn for you:

For example:

Categories that earn points:

TD’s/Yards – Rushing, Rec, passing
Sacks, INT’s, Defensive TDS
Defensive yards and points allowed

Categories that cost you points:

Fumbles, INT’s, Yards given up

You draft (Usually)

2QB
3RB
4WR
1Defense
1 Special teams

You play week to week against rotating opponents and set your starting line-ups each week.

With four divisions, each division winner will move on to a playoff and finally Championship round.

The winner gets bragging rights and I am working on getting something from Mr. Vella to give away to the Champ.

Wait...

Are we all selecting from the same draft pool?

If so, 32 teams is way too many and I’m dropping out.

by Aemoc on Aug 6, 2009 3:09 PM PDT reply actions

In fantasy football, you usually draft from the same pool.

No shit.

Firstly, piss off with your unwanted sarcasm. Of course you usually draft from the same pool, but most often a league has 12 teams. Yeah, but with 24032 teams or what have you, that’s just outrageous. unless it’s like a 6 round draft. By the end of the 5th round everyone is going to be taking fliers on people. It doesn’t make for fun because I have no desire to follow a benchriding scrub for fantasy purposes.

24 teams:

That means that we will all have a starting QB.

I like more teams because then you have to really watch the waiver wire and work your team.

That is it 24 teams.

means you have to know your shit. haha

by naq92 on Aug 7, 2009 9:41 AM PDT up reply actions

No.

That means 12 of us will have decent starting QB’s, and the rest of the team will have scrubs.

It’s called Fantasy Football for a reason. With 24 teams, not one person is going to have a “fantasy” team by the end of it, plain and simple.

It should be broken up in to two leagues. 24 teams is ridiculous.

by Aemoc on Aug 7, 2009 11:23 AM PDT up reply actions

that might be true

but i think the teams with the shitty QBs, get a much better chance to grab maybe an extra decent RB/WR or somethin..

your right, 24 teams is ridiculous. but i kinda like it. it doesnt hurt to try somethin way outta the ordinary every once in awhile. I tried a 20 team fantasy baseball league this year and it actually turned out really well.

It wasn’t sarcasm. I actually thought you were asking a question.

so...speculation for the draft

who’s gonna be the raider fan that reaches for zach miller and/or mcfadden?

and who’s gonna be the first rat bastard that picks a charger, chief, bronco or niner?

Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!

by naq92 on Aug 6, 2009 8:03 PM PDT reply actions

Me. Here’s a good one. Who’s gonna act like a 5 year old and draft like an idiot, excluding 4 teams from his draft card for literally no good reason whatsoever.

by Aemoc on Aug 7, 2009 12:03 AM PDT up reply actions

LOL probably me.

hey bro, i was just kidding around, why so serious? but if mcfadden falls to me at #9, i’m taking him!
