Michael Crabtree may re-enter 2010 NFL draft

This keeps getting better and better for us Raiders fans.

What you guys think? Aren't you glad that we didn't draft him now?

Also, how bad would it hurt his stock if he did this? And also what team do you think michael crabtree  would actually go to if they drafted him?

THIS IS SPARTA

49ers, Crabtree's Agent Refute Report

Per Rotoworld, the rumor about Crabtree’s willingness to re-enter the 2010 Draft seems to have been started by Crabtree’s cousin and advisor David Wells. Both the 49ers and Crabtree’s agent Eugene Parker have come out and stated that Crabtree has not made any such threat to holdout all year.

Still, Crabtree is trying to break out of his slot position in terms of compensation, while Heyward-Bey seemed to get slotted about right, earning $4 million more in guarantees over last year’s #7 pick Sedrick Ellis. Furthermore, Heyward-Bey is in camp learning the offense and working out the kinks, getting ready to contribute during the year. None of these things can be said about Crabtree.

If the Raiders were going through this type of holdout again it would only have hurt the legitimacy that Coach Cable is trying to bring back to our beloved franchise. I’m definitely OK without Crabtree on the Raiders.

Slade Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise.

ESPN’s draft coverage missed the moment when Al Davis and Tom Cable each took turns using Mel Kiper’s mock draft as toilet paper. - Chris Shellcroft

I didn’t know this was a blog for both the Oakland Raiders and Michael Crabtree. We’ll need to change our name and logo now.

This is ridiculous.

i think it's legitimate raider news

last april the raiders passed over him for DHB, many people in the media and on this blog thought that was a HUGE reach. if you don’t think Crabtree has something to do with the raiders, you haven’t been paying attention. at all.

face palm!

Crabtree was considered by just about every media source known by man to be the best WR in the draft class. We passed over him to draft DHB. the cross- bay rivals took him at #10.

I don’t understand how you DONT think this is newsworthy to the raiders. it’s atleast more newsworthy than Tony Romo breaking up with jessica simpson!

I didn’t make a post about it. I dropped a link on it because it was NFL-related. Crabtree links can be posted in the DLD as well as other NFL links. I just don’t think they need to be posted as separate posts.

Appreciated, but this blogs's image is fine.

I don’t think we need to obsess with MC, but the fact that it was such a “big deal” that we passed on him, and now he might sit, makes it newsworthy enough. Maybe not its own post, but a link drop for sure. Hey!

I still think it's newsworthy based on

many people on this blog, myself included, felt it was enough of an issue to give itself it’s own post. the difference would be a post about Maybin would draw a couple “wtf” comments and would probably then roll into the raiders pass rush, greg ellis signing, etc.

ur in the minority when you don’t believe Crabtree holding out for an entire year is newsworthy.

Post it on the “FanShot” section instead of the “FanPost” section. That’s where it belongs if it even does belong at all.

The image of this blog is poor. Look at the quality of our posts. We have “dance moves” by slot receivers and posts about 49er players.

I rant and rave when people post in all caps or stupid stuff like the dance move post and or Arena League post, but for the most part, the image is fine. Even some of your DLD’s are below standards. Keep up what you’re doing w/ them now (they’re relevant and interesting) and then you can complain about the image of this blog.

well, I, for one

think this blog’s image is just fine. and even if it needed fixing, I’d rather it be a collective of everybody as opposed to one guy making the final decisions on what is and isn’t news, and where does it belong.

I also believe this is definitely fan post worthy. it’s UNHEARD of for a a top ten pick to sit out the whole season and re-enter the draft a year later. this player also might’ve very well ended up a raider if the raiders just chose the “consensus” best WR.

bottom line is I’m not in the minority,it seems most people that are a part of this blog find this news very revelent and worthy of where it is now.

Are we supposed to wait until your DLD before we can talk about something?
It looks like a pretty safe bet that DHB will have a more productive year than Crabtree now!

I’m saying that a 49er player shouldn’t have his own post on a Raiders blog. Post it in the “FanShot” section because that’s where it belongs considering it has no kind of analysis or anything. That’s another reason why I talk about improving the image of this blog.

but this IS raider news

it’s not like we have a post about Shaun Hill, Frank Gore, Chilo Rachal, Pat Willis, etc. This is Michael Crabtree. if you look at a lot of pre-draft posts, anyone who wanted the raiders to take a WR, wanted Crabtree to be that pick if he was available. The raiders passed over him and “reached” for DHB. No matter what your opinion is of Crabtree, he’ll forever be somewhat linked to the Raiders.

The rest of the community hates Michael Crabtree, so the community would largely favor his holdout being scrutinized by us; however, if he signed next week and we took the poll next week, those numbers would dwindle.

If he was in camp right now, no one would care. There wouldn’t be a post about him and how well he would be doing.

The Ultimate Opportunist

by Rated-R Superstar on Aug 6, 2009 8:24 PM PDT up reply actions

that's because he wouldn't be

threatening to HOLD OUT for the year!

just ask: “do you believe that 49er WR Michael Crabtree’s holdout is in any way relevent to the raiders?”

write an essay arguing your side, if you want too.

if the entire community is scrutinizing mike crabtree and wants to see him fail because he’s not a raider and/or he’s a high draft pick of the enemy, then that means this is relevent.

You’re missing the point. The welcome guide covers all 200-plus blogs. It can’t be team specific. “Any thought you want” means any thought about the team.

Bo Jackson Anyone?

Seriously though I never wanted this kid nor would I want him in the future.

Just HIT somebody.

Why so Craby?

The report I read was that Crabtree was holding out because he thinks he should be paid more than DHB because he is the “best receiver” in the draft, regardless of his selection number. Well, it doesn’t work that way. So the situation is about DHB and Davis’ move in the draft to pass Crabtree by. I think it’s funny and makes me glad we didn’t pick him. I don’t think his head would fit in the stadium anyway. lol

Honesty is...

always the best way to go. He’s dropped more balls than I’d like to admit, but it’s his speed that kills. We know Al likes his track team.

I was just over at the niners blog

and they have dubbed Crabtree ‘monytree’ quite funny i thought :)

"Mel Kiper has his opinion and I respect it. But what does it mean? My 9-year-old nephew can watch film and make an opinion. I think I value the opinion of scouts who get paid to make their opinions. It will carry me through my career. It will serve as motivation for me." - Mike Mitchell

That’s another reason and factor concerning the image of this blog. I don’t think I recall seeing a comment like that on the Warriors blog and I know that I’ve never seen it on the Sharks blog, A’s blog or Golden Bears blog. That also doesn’t count his homophobic comment in another post.

OP here

I said this on the other post too.

I didn’t mean to start a flame war or anything. If I posted it on the wrong section, my bad. I did not even know there was a FanShot section. Now I know what belongs here and what doesn’t.

Let’s move on now. Go Raiders!

Raiders. That is all.

Like I said in the other post

you didn’t do anything wrong. You started a conversation that just happened to go wildly out of control. No fault to you.
