Burgess traded to Patriots

Patriots acquired former pro-bowler DE Derrick Burgess for undisclosed draft picks...

Update to come once they announce draft choices.

Update #1: reportedly it is for a 3rd round pick in 2010 and 5th round pick in 2011.

Update #2: David White's twitter states both picks are 2010 picks (3rd and 5th round)

I am personally guessing it is a 3rd and 4th around pick because the Eagles were looking to acquire his services as well. They may move him to outside linebacker for their 3-4 scheme... Also, wondering if they are going to extend his contract because that was his reason for not reporting to camp.

I like the fact the Raiders

are beginning to collect draft picks, too often in the past they have been losing picks. In the NFL with such a turnover rate you have to continue to replenish with young players and you do that with the draft and undrafted free agents. Good for the Raiders.

draft picks are a very good thing

Good that they got rid of him due toi the fact that he wasnt happy abt his contract even though he was injured the past two years and underproduced, but why always the Patriot. First we drafted Moss and now Burgress and during the draft we traded picks with them. The raider must be in bed with them hardcore. whoever they draft lets hope they turn into a contributor.

wow o.o Al davis needs to burn in hell!

Man I can kinda understand why they wanted to trade my man burgess ,but it doesn’t make sense to me that they would trade him to the patriots of all teams that’s just as bad as trading a 30 inch HDTV for 2 cans of soda LOL. I hope the raiders don’t suffer the same fate like the warriors getting all these young players while trading out the best ,and in the end they don’t do shit! That’s why I’m kinda like the hell with rookies when it comes to drafting now a days =(

It is a good deal but why do we have to wait until 2011!
