Is Crabtree a relevant subject on this blog?

PrintAs you may have seen there has been a quite spirited debate in regards to the relevency of discssing Crabtree (Or Moneytree as they are calling him over on the Niners board) and his issues on this site so I think the best we to reslove this issue between the family we call the silver and black pride community i figure we should just have a poll.
Some argue that because of the situation regarding Crabtree dissing the raiders in the media, the reaction to not being picked by the raiders at the draft, the ridicule by the media for taking DHB instead of Crabtree and the fact that it is simply football related that the topic is relevant. Others argue that because he does not play for the Raiders that it is not relevant.
If we vote that crabtree is not relevant then Crabtree posts will be banned from this blog and if we vote that it IS relevant then we will have a daily Crabtree watch post chronicalling the day to day life of Mr Crabtree........well maybe not but we will be free to post crabtree posts whenever we like :)

Anyone that thinks Michael Crabtree is relevant to the Oakland Raiders simply does not have common sense. He never played for the Raiders and that’s what makes him irrelevant.

Man, this is what has really burned me about the other blog I write for, especially lately. General blog etiquette discussion is one thing, but some people take it too far, and think that only their opinion matters.
That said, I admit taking an interest when I heard that Crabtree might skip the season, for the reason I have already stated elsewhere, and because he happened to be drafted by a team I loathe. But yeah, in my opinion, it’s time to move on to actual Raider news.

i’d still like to see whether or not crabtree is succeeding, and i don’t care where it’s posted.
Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!
Is he immediately relevant to the Raider's organization? No.
Did he show disrespect to the Raider’s organization and should we have a place to talk about that if we like? Yes.
While he is not on the team, (i am very happy that he is not), I do not think any “future crabtree” posts should be deleted [within reason]. It is a topic that should be able to be discussed if people would like to.
Nothing on this blog gets deleted. We could have a topic on grapes and it wouldn’t get deleted.

Obviously, no, since he isn’t a part of the team and he never was.
If people want to talk about it, stick the misguided post in the “FanShot” section. Post Tyson Jackson’s signing and Eli Manning’s contract over there as well if you want. They’re not relevant to the Raiders, but it’s something concerning the NFL and can be discussed over there. I don’t think posts concerning those guys are relevant in the “FanPost” section unless we’re playing them on Sunday and you have something on how to stop them.

I believe this like the second or third fanpost about Crabtree post-draft. But nevertheless, this a football blog dedicated to the Raiders, but is still a football blog. Just because we’re getting tired of Crabtree, doesn’t mean that anything non-Raiders is irrelevant. There’s plenty of posts on here of other team’s moves in FA and all that good stuff.
The better question is, “Is Crabtree an annoying and old, beat-to-death topic on this blog?” In which case, yes.
