Seymour's Coming to Town!
Espn.com reports that Richard Seymour has gotten his letter and has told the Raiders that he will report to the team tomorrow. That's great news, and even better news is that he will probably play on Monday night. It seemed like the holdout was going to just drag on and on, but it's over. They have not agreed on any kind of extension, but that will most likely come during the season or after the season. I trust that Al will probably pony up some big bucks like he always does, whether it be good or bad. Just good to hear that he's going to play.

He can still come in and play, though, right?

If he makes it into Oakland on Sat.
If this grievance is filed we will have to wait till Tuesday which is approx. 5 days after he recieved the letter.

Tommy Kelly said 2 days it was 2 late for him to play on monday, I rather he sit the bench then be offsides every drive
The Raiders and Richard Seymour are in the final stages of planning the defensive lineman’s arrival in Oakland this weekend, sources familiar with the negotiation told ESPN Friday.
Seymour is expected to fly to Oakland as early as Saturday and arrive in time to play Monday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
Oakland did not give Seymour a new contract or a promise not to slap its franchise tag on him after this season. But Seymour will not risk losing any of this year’s $3.685 million base salary and he will be that much closer to free agency in a potentially uncapped year in 2010.
The news puts an end to a situation that had gone on for nearly a week and seemed as if it could last longer.
Oakland traded a 2011 first-round pick to New England last Sunday for Seymour. Then, after a week in which Seymour did not report, the Raiders sent him a five-day letter, giving him five days to report or risk being suspended. Oakland also removed him from its roster and signed defensive tackle William Joseph.
But executives around the league believed Seymour’s best option was to report to the Raiders, begin collecting his $3.685 million salary and work off the last year of his contract.
Barring an unexpected breakdown, Seymour will become a Raider this weekend and be on the field Monday night.

Is that a real quote from Kelley?
That is funny. The guy goes to a new team and he is worried about him being offside. Uh Tommy offsides is the same on every team, but the plays may be a little different. He may not know the plays but Scott does and I don’t think it is going to help him tackle LT.
I, however, am not going to expect anything until I see him in a uniform.
Wherever I go, that's where I am.

i just wanna say this
at first i thought we got taken by the patriots in thew trade but this whole thing with him maybe not coming and us getting back a first rounder was a wake up call i wanna win now and want him to come and play for us in the MNF game … i think we all can agree that he is defenately gonna improve our team and lets let the future work its self out when the time comes

Chances he plays on MNF
very very slim. and if he does, he will play sloppy since he doesn’t know the playbook. The best thing we can do is bench him and start Richardson, but knowing Cable he’ll start Scott instead.
And since he didn’t sign an extension, chances of him signing extension now are also very slim. This is a broken trade at this point. Unless Davis throws a ton of money at him just before the free agency period starts in 2010, an uncapped year, Seymour will not stay in Oakland.

sloppy seymour >>>>>>>>>> polished richardson
i wouldnt be one to underestimate how he’ll prepare these next 2 days..the guys a professional that knows what hes doin. i think we should wait to see what really happens (since at this point, no one knows for sure..) about his contract status, and all of that. he’s basically here a minimum 2 years (w/the franchise tag)
Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!!

i believe he will play on monday
because if he wants to win games with this team, he HAS to play with us. also he said he’ll come in tomorrow, and if not, then he’ll definitely be in the next game.

Im in a 32 Team IDP Keeper League
And Im general manager of the Raiders (of course), we have a salary cap and free agency, you can sign players to multi-year contracts and we just have a rookie draft each year.
Fucken intense league but as close to the real deal as I think you can get
