Ok some may call me crazy but i have a way to get to Al Davis. Ok first we can all admit that Al Davis cant build a team for shit we got Ray Charles at the helm (JaMarcus Russell) 2 Rookies at starting Wideout and backfield that hasnt produced this year.
Ok but my way of getting to Al is how bout we all dont attend the game at the black hole that would should Al Davis something cause it seems that there is no other way to get him

Al DAVIS DOES NOT PLAY QUARTERBACK!
Everyone was pretty happy with our off season moves but unfortunately JaMarcus has regressed after a very solid second half of the season which showed a lot of promise.
Nobody was really arguing with the JaMarcus pick at the time we needed a QB and look who the other option was – the guy that scumbag Kiffen wanted – BRADY FUCKEN QUINN! and how has he turned out , worse than Russell! Yes we could have drafted Megatron but who was going to throw him the ball? bottom line is it wasnt a controversial pick. Russell had also just lead his team to a National Title and looked as good in college as pretty much anyone. So we paid him a bunch of cash and are now trying to get something out of this massive investment – what would you do? imagine if we cut him to soon and he goes somewhere else and dominates how fucken stupid would we look then and he does have the potential to do so.
We HAVE to see this through its not like he is Joey Harrington he has showed he can play but is struggling at the moment. As I said in a previous post maybe we should get a vet and sit Jmac for a year.
We all said after last year we should not just go and splash the cash again and build through youth well, this happens sometimes when you are building from the ground up.
This is not Mr Davis’s fault he has poured cash into this franchise desperately trying to win.

I'm kinda with Oz on this one; but I'm not mad at anyone for being fed up
Sad thing is, no one know what happens when Al does go. Right now, who would it be, his son? Trask would still have a big say in things, and do we want a Georgia Frontiere again?
And I have news for you: Al will outlive a nuclear war, like a cockroach or a rat. We all know his mom lived to be over a century.
We’re all fed up. I’m curious what Al going away would even do for us at this point.
It would inspire change. Plain and simple. If he kicks rocks, even if he puts his bastard son in charge, change would occur.
The only thing a raiders fan can do now is swear off of the product. No merchandise, no ticket sales, no tv ratings.
Hurt Al in his pocket book and maybe, just maybe, he’ll keel over.
I cannot defend all of Al's decisions
As I said I genuienly wishing anyone to die (except child molestors etc) is disgusting and I think any decent human being would agree, saying you want someone to die says a lot about YOUR character but I’m not going to get drawn into a childish argument over that as I said its common decency.
Al Davis is one of the main reasons we even have a NFL as it stands today with his work with the merger and he has won 3 superbowls and took us to another one this decade which is much more than the majority of franchises have done.
The overwhelming general consensus was that everyone was really happy with our off-season moves this year and last year he spent a shit-load of his money again TRYING TO WIN NOW! everybody said after the Free agent debacle of 08 should not be repeated and that we should build through youth and thats what we are doing but unfortunately young teams struggle at times I know it sucks and i have made various other posts about possibilities for what to do with Russell, and unless you know for a FACT that Al will not let Cable bench Russell it’s all speculation.
I am as frustrated as anyone with the team we all love but I dont think the default “Blame Al Davis” works in this particular instance.
Short of playing Quarterback himself i’m not sure what else Al can do.

None taken from what Al has done for the league and the organization
but all who have pointed fingers towards Al for taking control of what he shouldn’t (offensive game plan, for one, especially with Tollner and Hackett) and not relinquishing control where he should.
Not as critical of his moves as a GM and personnel wise, but there’s always his unwillingness to admit he’s wrong by sticking with someone for too long, and it’s appearing that way with Russell.
Obviously, his time is not over, and by some miracle he’ll improve, but most fans would agree the odds are against it happening, as hard as it is for us to swallow.
and the folks wanting Al to die don’t actually wish for someone’s death, but the sad fact is he would die before relinquishing control, and the fans that say ignorant things like that are symbolically and metaphorically speaking, for the most part at least.
In the case of the Aemoc dude, he does seem to harbor some serious hostility, but I know the Raiders can do that to a fan.

but i’m def not giving up something i love soo much such as goin to the raider games because Al hasnt had a winning team since 02.
ill be honest, i like a lot of the moves he’s made recently too. obviously hes made a lot of poor decisions, but i also think he and cable have us on the right track.
now just getting jamarcus to actually…you know…hit an open receiver.

The man that runs the organization that you know won’t let him be benched? The man that paid the 60 some million dollars? The man that released Garcia and took all the pressure off Russell to succeed? And I was very argumentative about taking Russell. And it’s Kiffin. Russell won’t dominate any where. If we cut him right now, where do you honestly think he will go? Who would take him. If you’re a GM of a team, would you take him right now? We HAVE to send a message to Russell to step it up cuz his job isn’t safe, and the only way to do that is to bench him. And this ALL falls squarely on Davis.

I totally agree that a message needs to be sent to Russell
I think part of the crowd turning on him is because it doesn’t seem like the Raiders are holding him accountable, but who really knows the Raiders are a closed shop so to speak.
how do we know that Al wont let JaMarcus be benched? i know this is likely but who knows? I think 3 games is too early to bench your starter anyway unless you have a sure thing sitting behind him (Garcia was not a sure thing and was clearly outplayed by Gradkowski AND Frye in preseason).
As per my response in our other discussion we should sit Jmac restructure his deal which he will because noone will sign him anyway sign Vick/McNabb etc etc

Any way, who says Gradkowsi or Frye won’t be better? Cable benched Huff and he came out playing. Even working w/ Amso one on one. It sent a message. Maybe it’ll do the same for Russell, cuz he clearly went backwards from last year.
And he’ll never restructure. You wouldn’t either and neither would I. Even they cut him, he gets the guaranteed money.

I disagree.
I don’t think Russell will ever be a starting QB anywhere else. He may be the only Raider that goes to another team and still sucks.
And I hate when people misspell another person’s name. It’s just inconsiderate in general and when I do it, I correct it as soon as I find out.

Andrew Walters falls into that category; they have an undrafted free agent at second string qb
and Andy lost the chance to make the cut fair and square.
I think any guy has a chance in the right situation. but Jamarcus may never fit into a situation like the Raiders are asking him to do. I think he’d have been more successful than VY in Tennessee if they built a playbook around his talents similarly.
Definitely appearing as though he’s not cerebral enough to make the toughest reads, to incorporate pump fakes and execute play actions that get coverages to bite long enough to open up guys, or to even look off of his initial reads or the ability to move through those progressions whatsoever.
But most places he’d stink as bad as he is here. i mean look at the run game we should have, and it’s neutralized because no safety worries about a sub 35% completion ratio.
Russell will never be serviceable as a starter
Cut your losses, play Gradkowski & try to pick up a veteran in the offseason.
A top 5 draft pick appears a certainty at this point. JR wasn’t the only douche
against Denver however, we got mauled on both lines of scrimmage…sad state
of affairs.

Watch some plays again. If two other guys on our line played on fire like that we’d control the point of attack with the best of them. Jamarcus looked to have lost the instinct he had to avoid pressure in the pocket and escape too. He used to look like Elway in college, avoiding a guy it seemed he didn’t even see at the last second to either run for yards or buy time to get off a first down pass.
Why do we never see that?

Like him or not Kiffin knew that JR wasn’t worth the time which is why he went to Al and look what happened. You are only kidding yourself if you think JR would go to another team and succeed because no matter how good the recievers and backs are they aren’t going to catch screen passes that hit the ground 2 yards in front of them. Accuracy, timing, and game management can all be coached to a certain degree but instinct cannot and JR doesn’t have the natural instinct of a good QB and even though he can get a little better with accuracy he will still struggle with it and won’t be consistant plus how many other QBs that were bad with one team looked and played better with someone else? Very few if any, everyone needs to face thae fact that the guy just isn’t a good QB and move on and I think Al will make the move as soon as he gets over the sticker shock of the salary they have to pay this guy.

the problem is he'll do just enough to keep hope in him
not necessarily for the fans but the organization. We know there’s pressure on Al to be right about JMac, and when he occasionally shows he has some tools that are coveted in the league (despite that he can’t string together two positive plays in a row) he’ll continue to justify the team’s patience with him.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m over him completely, and have grown tired of losing because of ineffiiciency at our most important position.

yet i think we should have him benched cuz his play wit 3 and outs,Ints and wat not don’t help the defense at all they are tired sluggish mid way threw the denver game i think benching russell would extend the drives a bit longer let the d rest but on the d we got burned by the slot receiver matched up against morrison or another backer johnson couldn’t do much either against the pass always behind the receiver
if we get a veteran qb to take the helm start winning showing russell along the way it leaves the draft open to improve the defense maybe a eric berry that play anywhere in the secondary and a solid tackler i wouldnt go for a tebow or mccoy jus because its like starting over again

True that, if benched and backup worthy Gradkowski and Frye perform
and show it can be done with the current inexperienced skills position rookies and second year guys, Jamarcus excuse is exposed for being just that, with no coaches to validate his bs that it’s not his fault.
It’s all about accountability, of which he seems to be immune. When will he be expected to answer to his ineptitude? Like other qbs in the leage?

and its hard to argue given the last 2 games. but id like to see a percentage of exactly how long it takes the average QB to develop into a starter. im thinkin about eli manning and the tony romos of the world, not matt ryan.

but if he regresses the following week, my view point will be the same. I really do want him succeed, but it doesn’t look good.
And it’s bad if it depends on 1 WR to make him a decent QB. That means Chaz is a crutch and Russell has become complacent instead of progressing.

Davis Picked Russell
Al Davis is not very good at assessing talent anymore. All he looks at is arm strangth when it comes to QB’s. Why not go and find a QB in the mold of Gannon? He was the best in the league for a couple years. The guy was smart, elusive, had decent arm strength, good accuracy, good touch, was gutsy, got in guys faces when they did something wrong, and cared about winning and was a winner. The only one of those things that Russell looks like he has is a cannon. Al Davis saw his cannon and picked him #1. Russell was a decent college QB, but he has never really been quick at aking decisions withthe ball. The Raiders need to go back and see what made him effective in college, so that they can maybe save his career.

Russell needs to man up like Gannon and be an NFL QB and a leader.
He almost single handedly changed the culture of the team and made us winners. We need someone like that desperately.

Gannon never made near what Jamarcus makes, either
and he was drafted as a corner! He had to knock down misconceptions that he was not capable of playing qb in this league because of the nonsensical notion so many had at the time for the prototypical 6’6" qb that weighs 250+ and throws overhand and not side hand.
I could never get over that. That’s why so many people jocked the Ryan Leafs and guys like that and said Gannon with his unorthodox delivery (remember the discussion about Phillip Rivers delivery, kinda diagonal from his shoulder; no one questions that anymore. hate him buut throws the best deep ball in the game right now) could never perform in the NFL.
Well put a guy like Gannon with a coach like Gruden—Chucky still lauds Gannon as one of the most intelligent, studied qb’s he’s played with and coached—it’s dangerous what can happen. Remember Garner and that deadly dink a dunk? How can we forget, it’s the last time we really moved the chains, except for moments with Brooks and Collins. But Brooks would look brilliant for the whole game and then cost you the win with a horrible int.
Something has to happen, but regardless, Davis must relinquish his stranglehold on the shape and dynamic of the offense. Old school will no longer work, especially with the current youth at wideout.
There's a confidence issue too
If JR loses his because of all the trouble he’s been having, it’ll be the end of him. A lot of things they can teach him, but without confidence, a QB simply can’t play. I really think that’s what happened to Rex Grossman, in addition to not learning from his mistakes.
